Booked 2.2 Titanium Golden Brown. (32 L on road in TN, including one year extended warranty). (PS: I am yet to get a TD, possibly by the end of this week). Showroom has two vechicles, - Trend 3.2 and Titanium 2.2 Auto.

I went for this one after the wise suggestion from 1989rs500 - Thanks to him for helping me to choose. :-) [clap] http://www.theautomotiveindia.com/f...ew-ford-endeavour-now-india-7.html#post478443

They said delivery period is one month, the vehicles have been allotted in lots. I sense though Ford is advertising big, they are still unaware or not so confident with the Toyota loving Indian SUV/MUV buyers.

I got a call today that the vechicle is billed, and they would give the VIN by this week. I will keep posted.

What I noticed from the vechicle (which has been discussed widely), after spending around 1.5hrs with the car.

1. I am 6'1" and I am comfortably able to find a nice seating position. It took 2 mins of seat adjustments though to get better leg space in the left and height.

2. I am happy with the headspace, many are complaining it. Note that, I didn't check the headspace in a 3.2 Titanium which comes with Moon-view roof. In 2.2 L, I have 3- inches of space. Its not adequate for a person who is using Scorpio (It has 5 inches of headspace easily, which has no seat height adjust).

I think the aero-dynamic limitations made Ford to live with this design. I, However, have no complaints. My complaint is the ingress & egress - Comparing to my present Scorpio, I find it tad difficult. (Honda City was the most challenging to me in this regard)

3. Even trend version has some very nice bits. All versions of Endy has powered tap gates. It would be very difficult for ladies when they try to lift or pull it down - The tail gate could easily be weighing 60-70 Kgs (my guess).

4. Last seat list is limited to kids - very strictly unless you want to treat your brothers or uncles rudely. (I remember 4 Adults and two kids shared the side facing rear in my Scorpio- a cramped drive for 10 Kms during a wedding, with 10 Adults and 6 Children [:D]) I can only dream of it in Endy.

5. Middle row is not super-comfortable for big framed adults. It can not be comfortable for 3 adults in the middle.

6. Engine noise is low, with all doors closed, its super-silent, when the Engine is idle.

7. Audo system is acceptable (I have 6 speakers, woofer, Amp etc in Scorpio that produces great sound), and I am willing to accept with what it comes.

8. Flip Key is bulky - you will always feel it in your pockets (and I like it too, as I could easily sense, if I leave it somewhere and try leaving)

9.Bulb in Trend variant might require upgrade.

10. So much of electronics, even in Trend variant. I had bad memories with electronics in Scorpio including an ABS issue. I trust Ford should be offering better quality electronics and sensors.

11. The centre Armrest is short.

12. The bottle holder at the centre is useless. With a bottle in it, it will either intrude gear shifts or prevent front passenger from using the arm rest.

13. Bottle holders (I suppose), in the door pads may or may not hold bottles properly, as it looks square. Need to try it with a bottle. (Show room is so close, and the guys are very nice, I may visit there as often)

14. Ford has booking issues, which may lead to delivery mess. But I believe Ford is listening, and will sort out the supply chain. When I asked about the delivery period in through Social media, followed up with a call from their Customer care. The guy said it may take upto 3 months for delivery.

15. If I get the vechicle within February, I trust it could be due to the color I choose.

Thanks for everyone in this thread - you guys helped to take an important decision in life and helped to choose. Thank you all. [clap]

Congratulations on your new car.. err SUV

I hope Ford India will be delivering the new SUV as soon as possible, I too feel the biggest issue Ford faces as of now is delivery, somehow Ford is not able to meet even bare minimum demand,

I believe @carbage dosent mind some waiting, the SUV is a great one no two word about it, definitely the best SUV one can buy in that range, way way way better than Santa Fe,Koleos,Fortuner, and even Pajero Sport, and do make sure to take a test drive when chance arrives, I too havent driven this beast as of now, I saw it here in Trivandrum but thats it, so make acquaintance with the AT gear box and the SUV itself when possible.

Yet to get a call for a TD - They have only two cars, and they do not want to take it outside, as people keep coming to check from all 200 kms circle. (One vechicle has gone for their own test at Kari speedway, yet to get their Top speed report)

However, I got a call from sales stating my car is already in the yard. :-) :-)

My issue is - I have just applied for the loan, and waiting to sell my current beast, Scorpio.

I will keep updating. Thanks mate.

Finally the test drive vehicle arrived at the local ford dealership. I took it for a 30 km test drive today on the Mangalore Bangalore highway which included a detour into a river bed on sand and pebbles. My XUV feels like a bullock cart after driving the endeavor [confused] . The endeavor ride is so smooth and cushioned and it feels so much premium inside in the titanium compared to the trend version.
I had 2 main apprehensions- The headroom in the titanium 3.2 which has a sunroof and the AT gearbox
There is a good 4 to 5 inches headroom after i adjusted the driver seat to get a good view of the road in front so not an issue at least for me ( I am 5'10 )
The Gearbox cannot be compared to a DSG but is pretty good. you can feel the gears changing with a minor hesitation but its not a major issue at all. there is no jerky feeling, the gear changes are smooth and pickup is really good feels like sitting inside a tank you get that secure feeling. Tried sports mode and manual mode also. the sports mode is slightly better than regular D mode but if your driving is aggressive then i think the ECU will convert D into sports mode after some time.
Finally about the off road detour on the riverbed it felt awesome. I tried out sand mode and rock mode with low ratio gear lock. my son and wife had come along for the test drive and my son wanted me to drive into the shallow river part but my wife was too scared so stopped at the waters edge.
Attaching 3 pics of the endeavor on the riverbed and 1 of the headroom for driver.
For the fence sitters having trouble taking a decision to book or wait for next gen Fortuner i would say you can safely go ahead and purchase the endeavor. Like my son says it is awesome . I have been promised delivery of my 3.2 Titanium 4x4 AT in 2 weeks. I can hardly wait.[:D]

I visited Bhavna Ford, Nerul, Navi Mumbai for TD. They have 3.2 version for TD since yesterday. I was asked to wait for 5-10 mins for TD by the SE. Within 2-3 mins he returned to me requesting to wait for 15-20 mins for TD as the vehicle is out for another TD. He vanished after giving me this information and I was absolutely unattended for next 30 mins having no clue when I will get the TD. Nobody attended even for drinking water, leave aside refreshments. 3 female receptionists were busy with usual female chatter. I asked one about the SE and she said, the car is away for TD. I lost my patience. To his bad luck, SE came to reception and got a nice music from me. Their's was utter careless and thankless attitude towards customer. I left the dealership without taking TD. Don't know whether TD vehicle is 3.2 Trend or 3.2 Titanium. From whatever discussion I had with SE immediately after entering, he claimed that all 2.2 variants will be delivered within 2-3 months from booking and 3.2 ones will take at least 6 months.

Very disappointing experience.

This is the first, ever, real Road Test for the 3.2, 4X4 that covered off roading especially the terrain response system. Very good job and thanks for sharing. I do not think even popular Auto magazines and websites have done this kind of test in India. [clap]

Wish you all the best for the new jumbo. :-)

Went to clear payments today. I never thought of asking for a TD. But to my surprise, the sales asked me if I want a TD with 3.2 4X4 Titanium. Accepted immediately and took a 20 kms TD.
1. Needless to say, I enjoyed the drive. With Mild offloading and Rock mode, and it was rocking.
2. Head-space in OK for me. (6'2") after finding a nice driving position -If I am going for a this model with sun-roof, limited head-space will NOT be a deciding factor. I see people just exaggerate, after some other disappointing experience.

3. Cabin is silent - expect some minimal Engine noise.

4. I could realise the torque, though sometimes the throttle response is slightly lesser. May be making the vechicle lighter could make it better. I think it will be done only in the new series of Engine, around 2018. (My guess)

5. It swallows speed bumps easily.

6. You will really see people giving you way![:D]

7. Horn is good - I do not think I would change this.

8. Map is optional and additional. Sales have no clue about when they will get accessories. I think we need to place orders by paying advance.

3.2 delivery time is said as 4-6 months, just to be in safe. I guess they should be able to deliver in 8 weeks.

I do not know if 2.2 will give me the same feel, still couple of more days to go.
