I had to go to Harry Ford Trivandrum once for checking out new Figo DCT and there was a pissed off customer with some issue with Ecosport and Ford ASS were playing with his EGR and this caught my interest and I chatted with this guy and he had many mails that he sent to Ford and I noticed one mail which had this reply given by some other Ford service engineer and he had this number ~240 or more with engine issues and over 400 with electrical and minor mechanical issues, and I too was shocked to see that reply,
The reply further stated that 240+ ecosports failing out of 200k cars is average for any brand, ect etc etc
But I too think 240+ engine issues is a bit too high for 200k cars on road,
On a google search I found Toyota too has upto 50 engine issues per 100k vehicles in India, but that means Ford is 1/2 times less reliable, I also asked that person to join TAI, but he is not a person who was interested in automotive forums etc

I observed lot of issues occur due to local jobs and other modifications that accessory shops do.

Am writing this after came across many of them.
There was an incident a guy was asking a local garage to change his alloys to stock rims as the steering went kaput and he will not get the warranty as alloys fitted are said to be the culprit for the steering system issue.
After few days I saw the same person creating fuzz in the dealership and cursing ASS of the company.

Same kind of incident was observed in the dealership where the wiring went kaput due to aftermarket ice setup and the owner was asking for warranty claim.

And lot of other incident which I know and Company and dealers take the heat. However in tge shadow of these incidents even sometimes dealers take toll on customers as well.

So we can't say much about incidents without clarity.

Sure I agree with that but the engine issue mostly aint customers mishap, its Fords TDCi that couldnt cope up with our ugly diesels, or there is some design flaw that haunts specifically Ecosport TDCis, its just recently say within past 3-4 months I have started noticing people complaining about smoking Ecosports and just after 3 years in market its failure rate has gone high, Skoda, VW too has such issues, I thought Ford would be better but in fact Ford is now faring worse than Skoda,VW in black smoking engines specifically Ecosport
But Ford Classic ,Figo and global Fiesta seems to be fine, so I suspect its gotta be Ecosport engine thats the one thats not fully trust worthy, again the Ecosport and Endeavor engine are completely different so the comparison dosent hold a chance but I am a little cautious now as India's biggest swelling Ford model Ecosport has hit some issues

To the best of my knowledge ecosport engine is not a completely new engine, it is a slightly differently tuned fiesta / figo engine only.
They fine tuned it according to the ecosport requirements. (Such as power to wait ratio, pulling power mileage etc....)
This fine tunings are minor tweaks like how we tune our bike carburetor (not exactly the same but similar tol

Similarly the endeavor engine was not a newly discovered one and the new endeavour is new to india and it was introduced in other countries already so i felt it wont give much issues,

Moreover the best thing is to wait for some morr months and get it after they started giving discounts

This was well back in 2014, the scene I am talking about is what Ecosports reliability has turned out since 3 years of launch, also I might be wrong but the issues reported are not in favor of Ford by any means.

Sure thats what makes me think the injector pressure etc is different for India, so is the EGR tuning, also an European friend of mine had once told me the fuel filters used here for service is of poor quality compared to ones used in Europe which might let in a few more particles that could potentially harm injectors,pistons etc due to poor compression, so the possibility is wide, I cant narrow it to one specific reason, but Ecosports are getting black smoke issues above the average rate than 1.3 MJD,DCi,TDi post 2015 which is a bit of a concern, again there is nothing this has to do with new Endeavor but since the question of reliability came out despite being a fan of Ford cars I shouldnt be praising all of their issues as well na, so I just thought of providing a word of caution.[roll]

The picture of the rear wheel arch shows the metallic sub frame extension that is extended bed that provides extra safety when anything collides from the back, usually some auto brands skimp on that and just cut the chassis off from C pillars, seems like new Endeavour has the frame fully extended till the back bumper to make it uber strong, no wonder this thing is heavy, its built super tuff,
Also did you notice where spare wheel was accomodated?
And how the mechanism is to release and install it ?
Also try posting the pictures of rear differential and suspension as well while doing the full review of Endeavour,

A million thanks dude. I have booked a panther black 3.2 titanium 4x4 AT and waiting for delivery. The local ford dealership has only a white colour 2.2 trend and online search throws up only 2 or 3 photos of black endeavor. your photos from different angles are superb. will have to make do with these photos till i get delivery [:D]
