Ford Endeavour BS6 With 10-Speed Auto Launch Price Rs 29.55 Lakhs

Ford has launched BS6 compliant version of its popular Endeavour SUV with introductory prices, which are valid till 1st May 2020, after which prices will increase by up to Rs 70,000. Updated Endeavour will also be getting some new features including segment-first 10-speed automatic gearbox. There is not any major changes to exteriors design and styling and interiors. Ford says, “The 2020 Endeavour features all-LED headlamps, encased in an all-new contemporary square design lamp cluster. The LED lamps for both low and high-beam provide up to 20% greater lighting penetration for enhanced night-time visibility.”

Another highlight of BS6 Endeavour is its 10-speed automatic gearbox that will be replacing the 6-speed automatic unit available with BS4 Endeavour. This makes Endeavour the first passenger vehicle in India to offer 10-speed automatic transmission. While 9-speed automatic is already offered with Jeep Compass diesel, Honda CR-V diesel and various models of Mercedes-Benz and Land Rover, 10-speed automatic can work as an effective USP for Ford in India. It is also worth noting that Endeavour’s primary rivals Toyota Fortuner and Isuzu MU-X come with 6-speed and 5-speed automatic, respectively.

Thanks to Ford India for giving an opportunity to a few existing owners to sample the Endeavour 2.0L on the dunes of Jaisalmer. Sharing my perspective from the drive:

The Good:
1. 10 speed gearbox is the highlight of the drivetrain. Amazingly smooth and seamless shifts even when it skips gears ensuring good performance by keeping the engine in the torque band.
2. Fuel Efficiency will definitely be better since the 10 speed gearbox is coupled with the lowered 3.55:1 axle ratio resulting in pretty low RPMs at cruising speed.
3. Manually selecting 10th gear around 90Kmph is possible which results in engine just ticking around 1300 RPM.
4. As experienced on dunes, option to lock out gears is a real boon.
5. The new 2.0L Engine is extremely silent outside as well.
6. LED Low & High beam are good.

The not so good:
1. AdBlue or Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) tank doesn’t seem to have any protection and positioning seems susceptible to damage.
2. Since the engine noise is even less, engine fan noise (for the duration it is active) is more intrusive now.
3. More of a relaxed highway cruiser rather preferring to be driven in a spirited manner.
4. Fog Lamps could have been LED too.
5. Puddle lamps, though LED, are pretty weak.
6. Missed opportunity to offer SYNC3 latest version 3.4 which has upgraded UI and additional feature.

With a comfortable suspension setup carried over from the facelift launched last year and a vast feature list, the positives of the Endeavour 2.0 should result in good sales number for Ford India.

2020 Ford Endeavour new TVC out

The video focuses on the basic changes and updates that come with the new BS6 Ford Endeavour. The overall design of the new Ford Endeavour remains the same. Only changes on the outside is the new design given to the internal of the headlight and the removal of badge that says 3.2 litre or 2.2 litre from the side fender. Apart from that everything else remains the same as that of the BS4 version on the outside.

2020 Ford Endeavour Sport Launched In India; Priced At ₹ 35.10 Lakh

FireShot Capture 078 - 2020 Ford Endeavour Sport Launched In India; Priced At Rs. 35.10 Lakh_ ...png

Ford has launched the new Endeavour Sport in India today priced at ₹ 35.10 lakh (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi) and it will be offered only in the range-topping Titanium 4x4 variant. The 2020 Ford Endeavour Sport is actually the American carmaker's attempt to make this massive SUV look a bit sportier on the outside, by means of some cosmetic updates. Essentially, the company has blacked out majority of the chrome elements on the new Ford Endeavour.

On the inside, the Ford Endeavour Sport identical to what we saw in the facelift earlier this year, though we were expecting an all-black treatment here as well as it would have really gone with its Sporty demeanour that you see from the outside. It will continue to come with the same beige and black dual-tone interior with matching beige upholstery. In terms of features, it will continue to get the panoramic sunroof, rear parking camera with auto park assist, automatic climate control, and a touchscreen infotainment system with Ford's SYNC3, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto among others. The Ford Endeavour also features the carmaker's new Ford Pass connected tech.

Raising mileage limits of Extended Warranty, Ford has silently introduced new Extended Warranty packages offering coverage of upto 1,50,000 Kms on most of their product range including the Endeavour. As an owner with already high mileage and certain to have crossed the earlier 1,00,000 Kms limit with-in the time period, it certainly comes as a blessing taking the fuss free ownership even further.

Do ensure that what all parts are covered during the extended warranty period year 1, 2 ,3 (after the standard warranty 1,2 years). Because in brands like Honda, they don't cover suspension parts after standard warranty or till extended warranty year1 only. Brands play a game, as they know which parts fail at what KMS.

That's correct, wear & tear parts are regular exclusions but in case of the Endeavour with so many electronics and some reported failures, better to have Extended Warranty just incase the need arises.
