Re: “Thunderbolt” Mahindra XUV5OO Detailed Review (3 Years Report)

Wouldnt Falken have the same issue as the Elanzos? small stones getting stuck in the tread and then giving off a rhythmic sound?

how is the tyre noise?

No Sir, The Falkens do not suffer stone embedding due to very wide & blocky tread gaps. The road noise is similar to earlier JKs. They may not be as quiet as bridgestone or Michelin HTs. I was aware and mentally prepared for AT traits for this upgrade.

The Only Thing perhaps I do not like about Falkens is Speed rating of T, which means 190 KMPH. The Bridgestones are rated H (210 KMPH)
On Flipside is Weight Rating of 104, A massive 900KGs.

I unintentionally went some Softroading/Offroading today. Observations-

1>XUV 1st gear is too fast even at idle. Thats where need of Low range is felt. I'll make sure my next car is proper 4x4 with LSD & low range.
2>Massive torque can take 30 degree inclines in 2nd gear idle. Other cars will clip off.
Even 35 degree inclines is possible in XUV.
3> Offroading is not about Grip(Unless you're mudding), Its more about Wheel articulation & GC.

Initial Impressions on Falken Widpeak ATs (Offroad)-
Shallow river crossing- good
30 deg unpaved incline (Dusty)- Zero Wheel spin
Large Potholes- Good but hard feeling
Grass- No problem at all.
Puncture Resistance on Sharp stones- Very good.

Tread patterns look good. Side profile looking increased even though the specs are same. Xuv looking as good as new. You are taking good care of your car.

Those are looking really good. 1st gear in XUV is really fast I also used the second gear while navigating 4-5 inches of snow last year.

However, XUV maintained its composture and Handling Remained the same. 0-150 Timings were still about same and Stability at x60 KPH wasn't compromised. Thats pleasant!
Nice to hear, [clap]

Upon Reaching M/S Vora M&M, we were attented by Mr.Vicky who managed to fix the car in about an Hour. Shield extended warranty is really helping. The expenses outside warranty would've been INR 3k
When did you opted this Shield Extended Warranty? How much it cost to you?

it was purchased in last Service (50k kms)
cost was 30k for 2 years with RSA.

@BHVM
Are these Falken Sincera?
I got to know that these tyres have high speed braking and wet surface grip issues, anything like that or only a rumor?
Any change in ride comfort, I mean tyres have hard or soft sidewalls?

Falken Sincera is a small car HT tyre. soft One.

these are falken wildpeak AT01.
I've heard nothing but praises about these in wet & dry. you can check reviews on YouTube in snow, mud etc.

sidewalls are slightly harder, so bumps are more pronounced. but stability is awesome.

Re: “Thunderbolt” Mahindra XUV5OO Detailed Review (3 Years Report)

Hello folks,
I am asking this with respect to a friend who owns XUV 500 W8, Done 60k Kms. Brought almost together. The Vehicle is in for 60k Service and SA is suggesting suspension overhaul. Some Busings need to be changed, each busing costs 1100. The overall costs is about 40k INR.

Thats a very steep cost!
Is suspension overhaul mandatory at 60k? If so, SA did not suggest such at my recent 60k Service?
Is Suspension work in XUV Sooo expensive?

OFC not if it doesn't have any issue in that.
Regarding, its price really not sure. Need to check with couple of dealers.
