Re: “Thunderbolt” XUV 5OO Detailed Review (Decals, Audio, LED, Mods++)

I got the rack installed at local decor shop for 6.5k. last year. please bear in mind that It increases the wind noise.
I was also thinking af getting a rack installed, the only problem is I dont like those boxy ones as they dont gel with XUV's stance and the ones like the one you have were over my budget.

This is a good option I can have. Will check it out if I can find this in my locality.

By The Way is it easy to remove?

I think I got a deal because the ones with dealer were 13k. also the box type you're talking are 5.5k. but they're better suited to carrying luggage (good depth ).

I'll suggest boxy one and remove it when you don't need. Should be a 15 min job. no drilling is involved.

Thanks BHVM. Here are 3 pictures of my BlueDoc. I have not yet gone for a long drive. The Aug 15 weekend I have planned for a 1000+km drive. Will send you more pictures.
I always wanted to add LEDs but am hesitating for "warranty" purposes. Total Km clocked till now is about 1200km in 20 odd days

@bluedoc: Congratulations! Wish you happy and safe driving.

Do you have a separate thread for ownership review?

Agree with @mastiandroid5 - the car looks great surrounded by greenery.

Thanks bvhm, mastiandroid5 and manuman. I have about my dealer experience on a different website.

The choice of the color was by my wife. She did not want any other color. The sales adviser whispered "sir this blue is little feminine" which my wife overheard. She replied "the SUV is so masculine and intimidating, the blue color makes it easy on me to drive it".

Else, I have some pics of the DRLs in Daytime and FOG. Its great to now how these babies make the vehicle stand out in dense fog even from afar!
Hey you are yet to post DIY steps for installing DRL's. Envy you [evil]

Hi
I recently bought the extended warranty from Sahyadri Motors, Pune I paid Rs 21348 for an additional 50K km and 2 years. So total I have 5 years and 1.5L kms of warranty.

Has anybody else bought this warranty. I think this is value for money especially for the peace of mind it offers

Re: “Thunderbolt” XUV 5OO Detailed Review (Decals, Audio, LED, Mods++)

In the last two weeks i read up quite a lot on two things that were bugging me with my XUV5OO w8 - BlueDoc:

1. Good Floor Mats and
2a. Pen drives for the music
2b. Charger for my phone(s)

1. Floor Mat
I wanted to buy the 3D Kagu mats but was not sure of the vendor's authenticity and value for money. I also read about the 3M Nomad loop mats and finally spent Rs 7500 in pune to get a grey colored mat. This price covered the 3 seating rows and the small toolbox area as well. My take on 3M Nomad is it is worth the money. See attached photos

2a. Pen drive for music
I have lots of music and my 6 year son loves yo yo honey singh, my wife loves kishore kumar and i love all kinds of stuff (i hardly get to hear it with my family). Now all this creates chaos when we go around so CDs don't help. So the only solution was to get pen-drives and listen to everybody's choice. The pen drives were bulky and the flap would not close with all the extension wires etc. So i bought a very small 8GB pen drive from ebay. Problem solved, no more messy cables. See attached photos

2b. We have 3 smart phones in the house and all 3 travel with the family. These smart phones drain so fast thanks to 3G and whatsapp. So I wanted a compact charger that would fit the small storage compartment below the infotainment module. Looked up at Ebay and bought a dual USB charger that fits nicely in the storage compartment. See attached photos

My next buy is going to be the INNOVV C1 front dash camera...

All comments welcome...

Cheers

Re: “Thunderbolt” XUV 5OO Detailed Review (Decals, Audio, LED, Mods++)

I just had a visit to service center.

continuing my HU dillema, they replaced the touch screen itself (called hmi ) and silver box. mind you this Is my 3rd silver box. I haven't driven enough to say that problem is solved.

I also got the purple Club spa done.
that included-
tyre polish
waxing
buffing
Interior dashboard polish.

the car definately looks better now. esp the dashboard has a magical sheen.

it's not like 8k detailing jobs but is still great for what it is.

thanks Mahindra! &
