Re: “Thunderbolt” XUV 5OO Detailed Review (Decals, Audio, LED, Mods++)

that would be great!
I wish companies I integrate front cams and merge them with night vision and collisions avoid tech. very much in need for India.

about UFO, I guess most of the sightings come from police cams or dash cams like yours
Even I wish, the cameras were integrated [frustration].

Look at this Ertiga guy bullying

Somehow I was under the impression, BHVM has got SJ4000 installed, thanks shreeni0403 for pasting the picture. Didn't you think of extra battery? that will avoid cable running to the charger. Currently I am looking at SJ4000, Cobra cdr 820 and dash cam 1080 the one below, reviews seemed to be good. In general if there are no issues with bumpy rides my decision to go with one of these would become easier. Otherwise, I am thinking of using my iPod to hook on to a windshield holder then capture videos. thoughts / comments are welcome.

Cable is required to run the camera in "Car Mode". If you enable "Car mode" and connect cable, you don't have to do any operations of start/stop recording.

The recording starts itself when the power supply is ON, stops itself when power supply / ignition is turned off.

Not sure about iPod but you can use any of your old Android phones for which you will get apps to behave like car camera. (Discussed in previous page I guess)

I didn't opt that way as I didn't have any old Android phone + I wanted a action camera which I can use on my helmet while on bike too. [lol]

I'm eagerly waiting your bike stunts at 1080p bro!
I think using Android phone today should be the cheapest way. 4k androids now have 720p recording.

a better alternative would be to fixate a high end tablet with custom app to work as car centre.
cam. GPs. pHone. videos. pics. all in one!

Definitely not for stunts/videos. For photos. There are situations where I wanted to take photos but for many reasons I won't be able to stop and take photos. This thing can take photos at every 5/10secs interval.

If you are planning to invest 4000rs on a mobile now, then I would say invest a little more on SJ4000.

I ended up paying about 6000rs for camera (including customs) plus 500rs for 16gb memory card.

@shreeni0403, I see the video posted is at low speed but how does the camera behaves w.r.t picture quality at higher speeds?

At what speed are you expecting ? I haven't checked the quality at speeds above 120-130kmph, at 120-130 it is as clear as you see in earlier clips.

Re: “Thunderbolt” XUV 5OO Detailed Review (Decals, Audio, LED, Mods++)

the beast returned from a 2678km journey today.
total 12 days of outing. fully driven by dad.
Final fuel efficiency is 11.141 (tank method )
no problems or issues to report.
the beast endured some of the worst intetor roads of it's life.
the odo stands at 32000km now.
Happy to report that HU did not crash or go blank.
bass seems to be improved with new hu and underseat woofers working like a charm.

Re: “Thunderbolt” XUV 5OO Detailed Review (Decals, Audio, LED, Mods++)

yesterday returned from a 400km trip to nearby city
1. HU working absolutely fine. the new GPS is more advanced and Accurate

2. had some neat 140 kmph runs on expressway. there were times when we didn't even believe we were going so fast.

3.the cluster threw up a low pressure tyre indicator. I saw an Mahindra showroom on the way. they filled air and solved It.

4. tried a curuize control at 80kmph on the way back but MID did not show efficiency more than 12.9 kmpl.

5. people are gaga over my led DRLS and Led headlights. fantastic illumination too.

the new hu came with upgraded GPS unit. it takes more efficient routes. new roads are better understood and finds more address now. the icons have also changed. actually the whole interface has changed and looks slightly different now.

front cams are used to record scenery as you drive. it can also record crashes and provide evidence in court.
