Subject- Fault not cleared even with 5 visits


Dear sir,
I have an Mahindra XUV 500 W8 which has a strange fault in The center Console (esp Touch screen.)
At random moments when driving, There is a loud 'POP' sound from speakers and the Touch screen goes completely off. As a result, all the Functions related to the center console Eg- GPS, Music system, Bluetooth, AC Controls, Tyre sensor, Fuel info Goes OFF. This is a very scary scenerio when we are peacefully driving but the console goes off without any reason and the Loud POP sound makes one startle or loose control. Sometimes parking the vehicle for 1~2 hour solves the problem but the Trouble repeats again and again.

To solve the issue, i have been visiting your Authorized service centers since 1.5 year. A Major hassle is, I live away from the service centers and i have to travel 170+170 Km (to Nashik) just for the service center.

The Silverbox was replaced twice regarding the issue, but has not cleared the Problem. Many times the problem is not re-created or Understood as it usually happens after 3~4 hours of driving the vehicle or at random.

You are kindly requested to-
1) Pay for the travel and time costs of my past futile visits as Service centers are to far away and I waste entire day for the visits. Also the problem was not solved.
2) Rectify the Problem immediately at My doorstep, or replace the CAR if Rectification is not possible.
3) Provide a courtesy vehicle until my issues are resolved.

Rough service details-
May 2013- Satpuda Automobiles Jalgaon- problem not understood or re-created
30 JUL 2013 Satpuda Automobiles Jalgaon- Silver box Replaced
25-10-2013- Ratnaprabha Motors- Aurangabad- problem not understood or re-created
Late 2013 Aakash Motors, Dhule- problem not understood or re-created
15 Mar 2104- Satpuda Automobiles Jalgaon- problem not understood or re-created
June 2014- Jitendra Motors, Nashik- Silver box replaced.

I'm afraid i don't have exact dates of Silver box replacement as Invoices were not provided for the same.

Problem symptoms-
1)Flikering in Touchscreen display
2)There is a loud 'POP' sound from speakers and the Touch screen goes completely off (Black). As a result, all the Functions related to the center console Eg- GPS, Music system, Bluetooth, AC Controls, Tyre sensor, Fuel info Goes OFF.

I got a call from Jeetendra Motors, Nashik (Who replaced my silver box last month).
We had a general discussion about it.

1) HU is in 2 parts. Silverbox and HMI. HMI is inside touch screen. I had the Silver box replaced but HMI is still factory. So we can try replacing the HMI.
2) There is problem with Connections/wiring causing fluctuations and voltage issues.
3) Something could be overheating as problem arrived in middle to a long drive (2 hours plus)

He is going to talk to his superiors and let me know how to go about it.

after the. primary call that day, there's no progress or reply so far.

I don't know what wrong with Mahindra. shall I shoot them another email?

first call the Nashik dealer and see where the things are at his end, and then after call the customer care/drop a mail to sanjoy.

he's going to arrange something for me. problem send again making runs to service center. nahik is 180km to me. imagine the diesel for 360kms!!

these kind of issues do come when you dont have a service center near you.

I got an xbox one from US and its Kinect is not working from day one. Have already sent it to US once and got it replaced but it is still not working. Microsoft India has denied any help untill the console is launched in India even after the launch my console would be considered out of warranty.

I am surprised they have not yet addressed the problem. I have a arctic blue W8 and am following this thread.

Thanks for the wishes. I got a message today, they are calling me to nearest service center

If I consider even 200Km, Imagine the fuel and time. I have made 5 visits till date for this issues and might have travelled about 1000~1200KM for this issue alone! It's simply pissing me off!

Do post your review and log about the Acrtic blue beast. I wanted that colour but thanks to Black interior I had to skip.


Else, I have some pics of the DRLs in Daytime and FOG. Its great to now how these babies make the vehicle stand out in dense fog even from afar!

I got the rack installed at local decor shop for 6.5k. last year. please bear in mind that It increases the wind noise.
