@ Gurrala ,waiting to get done the 40kkm servicing done before the tyrechange.
I want to know if there is any major problem in the car before investing on new tires.

michelin Primacy LC 195/60 R 15 quote - 5400INR ,WAWB extra.
Bridgestone potenza 195\60R15 quote -5100INR ,WAWB extra.
Bridgestone B250 185/60R15(OE) quote -4500 INR ,WAWB extra
Try to look for other stores that would do the wheel alignment and balancing in the price of 4/5 tires with valves if needed.Compare prices between stores, bargain a lot.

The prices are the correct for the 195/60 R15 tires. The prices listed on changemytire are higher for all the tires you have shortlisted and do not include installation or WAWB either.

As Prashanth has suggested it is advisable to get the 40000kms service done and also check all the steering and suspension components to make sure they tires work perfectly and wear evenly with time.

Ok ,I will ask them to check steering and suspension components .Last time when

@mp I want to know whether it is to change bushes /joints for the purpose of tire upgrade or replacement.

Mounting clamp kit, bearing blocks of Anti roll bar ,&anti roll bar have been changed in Nov12.

Also at the time of the clutch replacement ,they had changed some suspension related parts on their own under warranty. But I don't remember which exactly .

Also they had told me that the tires need replacement and they have worn out uniformly hence all is well from WAWB ,and suspension side.

Changemytire website shows Bridgestone ER 300 Turanza as an option in 185 /60/R15 size it is H rated while stock B250 is T rated so what is the difference?

My usual tire dealer said , go for Bridgestone potenza 195\60/R15 instead of michelin pLC 195/60/R 15 , as PLC is softer and high risk for sidewall cut as compared to Potenza on Pune road conditions.
He kept mum on Bridgestone Ecopia.
Result -confusion.

One thing I learnt while this tyre purchase that the dealers keeps on praising the tire which is available at their showroom[frustration]

The ratings are speed ratings.

T is rated for a max speed of 190KMPH.

H is rated for a max speed of 210KMPH.

Max speed is sustained only for a few minutes to a few seconds, if you drive consistently at those speeds you need to go with a higher rated tire with sufficient head room.Upwards of V rated tires.

Earlier Michelin tires were notorious for the sidewall cuts but the newer ones contain a tougher compound.

If you are still in doubt go with Bridgestone, it is an awesome tire just that it is noisy nothing else wrong with it.

Potenza is better than Turanza in terms of grip.Ecopia is a new tire so maybe thats why he doesn't have any knowledge on the real world performance.

The dealer will obviously try to sell what he has in stock. He has paid for the stock.Try to buy fresh tires not older than 2 months, 6 months if the tires are rare.

Reading this I get a lot of info on tyre options as I have completed 49000kms (OE BS 250 will run till 60000 easily) will be rotating the tyre today & get an opinion to upsize or not to upsize from tyre shop, one thing I am wondering is that at least I only used & rotated 4 tyre the 5th spare has been always in boot only used 2 times for a short run of 200kms.

If I upsize & puncture happens I would have to fit the old 185/60/15 tyre will that make ride quality a problem? of course it will depend which side front/back I fit that.

@Tornado out of all the post I as of now conclude (might help you also) that 2 options you have is

if you don't want upsizing
Bridgestone TURANZA ER300 Tubeless
http://www.changemytyre.com/Car/Tyres/Bridgestone/TURANZA-ER300/1262?VehicleID=347

If you are willing to upsize
Michelin PRIMACY LC Tubeless
http://www.changemytyre.com/Car/Tyres/Michelin/PRIMACY-LC/71

There is no XM2 available in 195/60/R15 spec

Bridgestone POTENZA RE88 Tubeless

But PLC is relatively old tech IMO.

Please let me know which is harder , hard , soft , softer amongst PLC , ECOPIA, TURANZA, POTENZA ?
Dealers are avoiding this question.
Also is it true that Yokos are noisy ?

@ gypsy , downsized spare wheel is routine practice in hyundai and MSIL OE, to save space in the boot and cost cutting. It doesn't make any difference as long as the rim size is same.

You are right xm2 is available with 195/55 or 65 /R 15 IMO.

Old tech but There is no XM2 available in 195/60/R15 spec so no Michelin XM2 possible only PLC or bridgestone, if going back to bridgestone then why upsize, what are the benefits of upsizing vs what are the downside? answer that & you will easily conclude the answer.

Another option if you are willing to upsize is
Yokohama V550 AVS DB Tubeless

My comment on old tech was in context of following part ofJarpickle 's post. I want to know whether the PLC has got tougher compound now a days

With stock B 250 , ride is little hard and I want the ride to be comfortable than B 250 , also want improved grip and braking , also want little more confidence while cornering , hence thought of upsizing.

According to changemytire , Turanza is available with stock size but pune dealers and bs website is not showing its availability, hence again thinking of upsizing.

Pot hole nature of my daily route is making me and the dealer to stay away from the softest tires. So I am trying to find out golden midway..

@Tornado

This is especially for you

Yesterday I met a tyre dealer who stock every brand who is completely unbiased towards a brand. So for Manza he suggested two things

1. If you want a mixed compound, bit hard and bit soft which makes a good balance is none other than BS and suggested Turanza 195 section.
2. If you just want super grip, low tyre noise and ride comfort, then please go with Michelin XM2

With the dynamics of Manza, tyre shop guy said Yokos are with bit noise and other brands do not sustain well except JK which lasts really very long but with lot of noise and very hard ride, something like my Ritz JK Tornados

On my way back, I have spotted a Manza and stopped there to check the tyres and found they are BS Turanza and spoke to the owner who had completed 15k with the new tyres and extremely happy with them. A big sorry, I forget to take some pics.

So now decision is left you Sir[:)]
