Er300, upsize you mentioned is 195 /65 /15 while the ER 60 (mine one) is 195 /60 /15.
195 /65 would lead to more flex of sidewall and bad steering experience. 195 /60 /15 would be better on the steering experience.
I could not find ER 60 on any of the dealer nor online but I am going out today to a new dealer hope I can find ER60 as it only increases width which will help in body roll & handling.

Online these are the only choice available for 195 /60 /15

Increasing the tire pressure will make the ride a bit harsh. You will need to experiment with different pressures to find with what works best at different loads.

Yokohama C drive would be a nice tire to try if you cannot find the ER60.It is Asymmetric.

Honestly speaking, Michelin Plc or 3 ST is the tyre for you.

Yoko are little noisy.

:offtopic: which ICE you are using in your car. If bass, X bass levels are kept on high levels then the tyre noise would not be audible inside.

Spoke to Michelin dealer he said Michelin Plc is discontinued & instead suggested Michelin XM2 or Primacy 3 ST both available in 195/60R/15 I am only concerned with soft rubber on Michelin even though I dont drive on bad path holed roads but in hills / mountain drive often due to land slide this tyre can be damaged even though it will be a slow drive or may be I am getting too concerned with softness, dealer told me that older version were discontinued due to softness hence the new version don't have any such issues, will be visiting the shop tomorrow & have a look at both of them.

Both are expensive than bridgestone but XM2 offers better fuel efficiency so the higher cost of 4000/- should get offset with fuel saving.

Primacy 3ST are basically next generation PLC. Michelin had declared at the launch of the 3 ST that soon they are going to discontinue the PLC.

I was unlucky that at that time(my tire purchase) xm 2 were not availablein this(195 /60 R 15 or 185 /60 R 15 ) size, otherwise xm2 was my first choice as my usual route was going to be full of potholes, hence I needed tougher sidewalls.

I am only concerned with soft rubber on Michelin
Softness(of 3 ST or PLC) of the tread and contact patch is not a problem on highway. It is in fact a plus point as it offers better wet and dry grip. Only problem is softness of sidewall which predisposes it self for sidewall cut and damage. But beauty of xm 2 is that it has got thougher sidewall than rest of the Michelin tyre range.
even though I dont drive on bad path holed roads but in hills / mountain drive often due to land slide this tyre can be damaged even though it will be a slow drive
I was unaware of this landslide and mountain issue , hence I advised you 3ST. But now I strongly recommend you xm2.
3 St advantage over the PLC is that the braking distance is better by 1 to 2 meters, else the tread and contact patch is as soft as PLC.

XM2 offers better fuel efficiency so the higher cost of 4000/- should get offset with fuel saving.
+1000, My wagon R FE improved by 1 kmpl at least. However you are going to upsize hence it will be no loss no profit situation on FE front as compared to BS Turanza ER 60 or Primacy 3 ST. (these two would reduce FE by 2 percent)

soft rubber on Michelin is intentional by design to absorb shocks but not sure how durable it will be]
xm 2 is not as soft as rest of the Michelins but it is not as hard as BS Turanza. And the video shows that the sidewall is durable. I have xm2 on my wagon R and believe me they are wonderful on highways and bad roads too.

I got the car serviced @60000 went for a tyre change but found that Michelin Energy XM2 is available in 2 different sizes
185/65R/15 (sidewall height increase)
195/60R/15 (base width increase)
Now talking to dealer he suggested 185/65R/15 as he said this will give you more fuel efficiency & tyre width wont increase. If I go for tyre width 195/60R/15 then mileage will be bit reduced & steering would be bit harder now I know that something or the other has to be compromised which one would you suggest, I have to get them fitted tomorrow as I am leaving out for hills on 13th morning.

185/65R15 is the Ertiga's tire size.

195/60R15 is what you need. This is the correct upsize..For better handling this is more suited.

Sure I will be posting my detailed review & pictures. I already have recorded 33+33 kms sound graph today with my stock tyre B250 here are the values.
Car standstill cabin noise - 65db
Car driven @60-80kms - 69-70db
Car driven @90-120kms - 73-74db

Once I change the tyre I will record it again & post results.

How did you record the road noise?

New tires tend to be more noisy. It takes a while for the new tires to break in.So do tests at different km based intervals for a better idea.

my project manager has Michelin tires( not sure about the model) on his manza. he said they are too soft and can't even take little bit of rough roads. he has lot of got punctures while driving on bad roads where a normal indian brand would have held well. these are the words from him

How much time after should I test? I am driving to Nanital 300kms in 1st day will that be ok or much more kms before I get less noise as reported by many user of XM2 in this thread

I thought you used some pro equipment to test it.

Test it right after fitment on the same roads as you tested these tires.

Then test it during your trip and after it.

It usually takes around 1000kms for the tires to break in.
