Using Reliance Netconnect Broadband+ 3.1 MBPS , (2G) for last 3 years, connectivity has been good all over India with free roaming and plan as per below :

3 GB Day (6 am - 10 pm)
10 GB Night (10 pm - 6 am)
@ 650/pm+Tax.

Cheers,
Anshuman
That is a good plan. 10gb and 650rs in the night is really mouth-watering plan!

i see a new Freedom 1395-Combo here, currently using Freedom 1295 combo with 2Mbps, with Rs 100 extra, 4Mbps makes sense.

what say!
35GB @ 2Mbps would be better than 25GB @ 4Mbps if you downloads more than /around 35GB.

25GB @ 4Mbps is better if your download is less comparatively. You get your files quick but 25GB finishes in record time :)

When i was using BSNL 8Mbps plan 2799, my download was always above 50GB. Now, with Airtel 2Mbps plan - Download is less than 15-20GB per month!

The service guy has actually told that line is not proper and should be splited, but he never does. Once, I just wanted internet fixed and he didn't have enough time to do anything else so left it. Once when we both had time but he immediately got a phone call that he cut the wrong line(he was supposed to cut 75's line and disconnected 76's)! This made him leave that job again. Few more similar stories, the line never changed. As I told earlier, their service is pathetic so didn't dare to call them again, and let it be as it is.
Here's one incidence with someone who picked up my phone when I wanted to complain about net not working:
Me: Net's not working.
He: Have you made any changes in modem?
Me: Nope. Nothing.
He: In windows then?
Me: Nope. It doesn't even work in Linux.
He: That's the reason sir! Linux is a virus! Format your windows! Net won't work with it. [frustration]
I still want to meet this genius and salute him.
OMFG..[lol]
BTW I'm using NEXTRA BB

do you know any good tracker which i can use to see my bandwidth usage ?

edit > let me try this NetWorx : bandwidth monitor, bandwidth speed test, bandwidth and traffic monitoring tool for Windows
Since i am on unlimited (both in home n office), I do not use any bandwidth monitor. I do check bsnl /airtel care website to see the total usage (once in a while)

ShaPlus Bandwidth Meter used to be a famous one when BSNL started Night Unlimited plans

That was a huge hit. I do not know the current scenario .

2Mbps? 4? There are better option guys.

I use ACT broadband (the fiber, except the last mile from the switch which is coaxial/UTP cable).

It's a 15Mbps speed, for Rs. 1099, 50 GB FUP/limit, 512 Kbps speed after 50GB.

Though it is 15Mbps, I sometimes get >20Mbps! shhh....

Here is a snapshot from my mobile 'speedtest' screen. The test was on Wi-Fi; wired, gives couple of Mbps better speed.

My Airtel 4G datacard on my laptop gives around 4Mbps, but nothing to beat ACT broadband at home. Airtel 4G speed depends on the typical signal, of course.

@manuman,
You stay either whitefield or electronic city? Because, ACT Broadband is not available all part of the city (as per my knowledge). It is near to big corporate offices (Whitefield,ElectronicCity,Domlur, Hebbal etc). Not there in Koramangala, BTM, Banashankari etc

There are 1Gbps speed in Japan too :D ! We have to see the availability / feasibility right?

My friend who stays in Whitefield use this.

Well @appus, I stay in Banaswadi / Kalyan Nagar. There was an option for 25Mbps, but I decided to go with 15Mbps. My kids / wiffy watch lot of video in youtube, live (the TV has provision) hence needed a better connection. Earlier, I had 10Mbps connection at the same cost but with some simple email, upgraded it to 15Mbps (at the same cost).

I agree, there are enough choices but 'need and affordability' should be criteria for deciding the service provider and plan. In fact, if you compare the 1099+tax I pay for 15Mbps/50GB, is lot cheaper than many other service providers.

It has been pretty good uninterrupted service for past 18 months, except once when the cable broke due to a tree fall. Their on the phone support is good too.

BTW, I have absolutely no stake whatsoever in act broadband these are my opinion based on experience. I don't want anyone to take me wrong [:)]

Do not worry about that. We all get information from people who are using it. I checked two three times on their website to see the availability in our area. Unfortunately, we do not fall in their service area. I think they are more interested in areas where Airtel not made their presence (again, i cant confirm this).

In our area, only Airtel / BSNL are the only decent broadband providers. You see some wireless broadband guys. But the speed is pathetic and charge more.
