I have tried Google DNS already but still the same. Though I didn't try OPEN DNS.
BTW, I ran Namebench and it showed that BSNL's DNS server is the best.[surprise]

Oops. Sorry. Attaching the pic again!
Wireless Internet Speed at bro's office.
Cool. One of our member in GL (living in some other country) pays just 5$ per month for a 55 Mb/s plan. [glasses]

@Vishwas, seems. I'll try contacting them and see whether they can fix it or not.[lol]

Is anyone experiencing a low speed wit BSNL
2Mbps plan here but browsing is sooo slow. :/
Yep i am facing the same issue, BSNL no longer is reliable.
Once my speed was so slow & eventually it lost the connection altogether.

The guy from BSNL came and said I have to change all the wiring (which was related to the phone connection) in my house. I told him that he was talking rubbish and I wanted to talk to his superior. His superior was a lady, she told me to listen to him or be without internet.

I told her fine, but once I remove the old wiring I was going to have it tested, and if there was no fault in the wire I would be filing a case against her & her guy, for compensation.

She said there was no need to get nasty and she sent two senior tech guys who fixed the problem in half an hour.

@Johnlord, can you please tell me what they did in half an hour?
There was a lose contact at the junction box, so they fixed that and they replaced the splitter box, they said they are not sure if the splitter is faulty but they will replace it.

All done at no cost.

Iam using BSNL Wimax Internet. It's a kind of Wireless Broadband exclusively provided in Rural and Sub-Urban areas where there are no land line phone connections available. IMO and experience, this is more consistent than the landline broadband.

My Plan is Rs.750 per month + Rs.40 CPE Rental Charges. The Speed is 512 Kbps unlimited.

BSNL has always given me troubles with their modems. So bought a new modem a few months ago & there isn't any disconnections thereafter.
But at times, internet turns out to be really slow.

Service provider : hathway
Previous plan info :
Speed 5 mbps till usage reaches 12 gb then unlimited at 512 kbps
Cost : 1113 rupees per month

Current plan
Speed 15 mbps till usage reaches 40 gb then after unlimited data at 512 kbps
And the cost is 1169 rupees per month

Wow what a difference 66 rupees made, and with the same hathway service provider

My plight is unfortunate, none of the private internet providers are ready to give connection for my home, because we have BSNL telephone exchange down the lane [frustration]

@vishwas,
As mentioned above, ACT broadband is expanding their reach to many other places. 15Mbps till 50GB and then 512 kbps costs 1099/- . acttv.in (many places are not listed in their website though)

Tried that also, they say we are not able to provide a connection there.
