Mr. Karl Slym and Tata motors,
Is this what you have on offer in a Safari Storme, in 2013? Just not good enough to convince the quality conscious current generation customers.

Ok Guys,
There seems to be a problem with my Storme:
1. Strange Engine noise which disappears when i press clutch, i noticed the noise with first week when i bought Storme but was not able to reproduce, TAAS looked in to the problem and replaced clutch bearing and for some time the noise disappeared but the problem has started all over again and this time the noise is pretty loud, i sent my Storme last week to ABS motors Gurgaon and it stayed there for 2 days. ABS motors have changes the entire clutch set but when i went to take my vehicle i went on a test drive with the workshop manager and after 5 - 6 Kms of driving the noise started again. I blasted them like anything, after some time the GM of the workshop came and they try to solve the issue but could not. So they have called some one from TATA to look into the issue.

2. Steering is touching to the lower part while taking U turns, not sure why they are not able to solve this issue, this issue started when I changed the locks which includes the ignition lock as well and ABS motors is not able to fix the issues even after 4 visits.

3. Recently my brother took my Storme to Haridwar - Rishikesh and observed THUD sound from rear side, on checking the TASS found that rear shockers were leaking and hence changed both the rear shockers, now this issue has been fixed.

I am really frustated to visit TASS for the same issues, Even though I love my beast but somewhere i am not satisfied with the TATA quality and if these issues will continue then this will be my last TATA vehicle[angry]
ok guys this is what TATA is going to provide as 2DIN.

I had gone with an idea of buying Linea in year 2010 and agian in 2012 went to tata motors to buy Manza but both time I did not like the way the showrooms were functioning. It was like to a government office. They have bad sales people who dont even bother for sales. Both time I turned back going for ford and maruti. Tata must have a good marketing practise and good sales people at their showrooms to pick their part of sales.

I didn't understand the fact that why only TATA dealers not interested in selling and maintaining the vehicles while others do it whole heartedly...[frustration][frustration][frustration] (I can only use 3 smileys...!!!!!!!)

An online forum where complaints can be registered about the dealers all over India must be started and those getting maximum complaints must be punished or sacked from selling the cars.. It is something dedicated to the dealer specific issues and not the regular "TATA help" that I'm mentioning.

My Vista had a constant service indicator light on that had me worried-went to the local TML dealer.. computer detected an electronic problem..in minutes[:)].. well then the downside..no testing equipment/spares,so had to go around town and get the work done-with the service advisor, but a 15 min job took 2.5 hrs-well was i angry-strangely no-they were pleasant about the whole thing, but am i more confidant than before..no!
Found the wheels jerking about at high speeds-so sent the car back for wheel balancing-cost a bit-but,a short test drive after delivery and the problem remains.[confused]
Dad had a premier padmini and so am pretty used to these niggles but,am not really sure how Karl Slym is going to turn round an entire culture?
Overall i feel the slump in sales has left morale low and that has made a bad situation worse.

Here is a link to TATA 's performance in the showroom. I know surveys are not full proof , they can be wrong by 1 or 2 ranks but not more than that IMO. 2012 India Sales Satisfaction Index (SSI) Study | J.D. Power Autos

Tomorrow i am going to take My Storme to ABS motors service station 6th time in this months for same issues:
If Mr. Karl Slym is reading this forum, then it's my humble request to get the things fixed. Ask someone from TATA motors to look in to this matter. I know i made a huge mistake or even say "PAAP" of buying a TATA car but even god spears one mistake. Please ask the ABS motors to fix the issue and i will be more than happy. I literally feels cheated when my Storme visits teh workshop again & again & again. I have now become a joke in my Office and family and everybody keeps saying that Mukesh's Storme visits Workshop more then running on the road [cry]

@Mukesh

Oh !! That looks to be really annoying to you and I clearly understand what goes in your mind when people start talking like that, something like "did I do a mistake by buying Storme and more importantly a car from TATA".

I wish they fix the problems soon and hope Mr.Karl read all this in this thread and take some sensible steps immediately

All these niggles are now making me take a step back & buy the Mahindra XUV 500, but my heart isn't agreeing but the mind says its better to cry once rather than crying for the whole life.

@ mukesh: Your ownership review made up my mind to buy the storme but now with the problems & the attitude of TASS I might back off.
People often have complaints about the TASS but here the design team has made another blunder, what is the use of a display which will be hidden by the gear lever, I would say one of the stupidest design ever...[anger]

Karl Slym: You are almost losing one of your prospect Storme owner now. :-/

@be2_sharma, Not every storme has problems, Here in TAI there are other members who are happy with their Storme, I am the only unlucky one here. I can still drive my vehicle with these problems but i am wandering why can't they (TAAS) fix the issue in one go. As i have mentioned earlier is the problem is not about the niggles, it's about the attitude and willingness/eagerness to make the customer happy. I would say please do not change your mind on just my incident, rest is all your choice.

Meanwhile I see Tata Motors trying to bring in new cars.

Why Tata Motors was forced to upgrade its entire fleet - NDTVProfit.com

They have to try new frame or new car itself to compete today's market. I saw they have rolled out their new Tata Sumo Gold. Oh boy !! I see it is same box UV only thing we find is roof AC. TATA you guys need to sit and think with your engineers. You guys have the JLR with you why not you get the inspiration from it to design new Tata cars for India
