Hello VipinLJ,

Really sorry about the accident mate. I know how it feels as I too got a small scratch on my car yesterday. :(

No use crying over it. chuck it.

May I know where you got that bluish keychain? Can you link me?

-eXperience
Hey eXperience

Thanks for the nice words mate. Yup. I know how it feels. It pains you no matter what but then we have to move on :)

Link to the keychains

The silver one
VOLKSWAGEN key Chain full metallic keychain car and bike, key ring | eBay

The blue one
Metallic Key Chain V W - Keychain - Key Ring

BTW, the blue keychain has the VW logo only on one side. The other side is like a mirror with gun-metal finish. That is, there is no VW logo there. That is the downside of the blue one. If it had the VW logo with blue background on the other side as well, it would have been better.

Really sorry to hear the incident, but don't worry everything would be fine soon. These things can happen to anyone while on the road. So just chill.
Thank you Vivek for the comforting words. Yes. Like I said, I gave the car for denting and painting work yesterday. Will get it back tomorrow. I will take pictures and let you guys know how it turns out :)

Thank you guys

Regards,
Vipin

Really sorry to hear about the incident VipinLJ. But these things are literally inevitable on our roads with the ever growing and annoying traffic. Anyways, glad you'll be getting your car back all scar-free soon. Do post some pics of your car after the paintjob.

Those key rings do look lovely, specially the blue one.

Thank you very much GM88. I know all these are inevitable but it was the first time something like this was happening with me behind the wheels and that is why I was so depressed.

Anyway, looking forward to getting my car back tomorrow. Miss her :(

The blue keyring is cool but I kinda like the other one better because of the VW logo being seen on both sides :)

Alright. I already have the other one with me,silver one. I got it complimentary from the dealer during my car's delivery. It sure does look nice.
Lucky you. My dealer did not give that to me saying it costs Rs. 425 or so. He instead gave me a key chain with a leather strap with Volkswagen written on it. It looked cool but I misplaced it.

Because I had asked VW and they said the entire process would take atleast a month and I do not have time to go after all that because my university exams are coming up.
Another reason was that I did not want to lose NCB on my insurance which actually amounts to a big amount 4-5 years down the line. I can use that NCB on the insurance of my new car and I can get upto 60pc off down the line when we sell the Polo.
One month!! I got my rear bumper repaired in three days, and fender replacement, side door dent removal in around 5 days if I remember. The former was at one the busiest workshop in Noida. I don't understand what would your workshop guys do with your car for one month. I mean you should have pushed them for a faster work.
I always thought that every car color for every brand is unique, and to match the color one has to have that unique code/color. Good that you have given your car to trusted workshop otherwise things may go severely wrong.

And yes do not forget to tell this local workshop to NOT to pressure wash the engine bay. Just wipe with soft moist cloth if they wish to clean the bay, that's it.

NCB after 4-5 years, nice long term plans!! I wish you do get no claim bonus, I mean no dents no accidents ever.

Hehe. Thank you for the kind words, Rightnow. I have around 60pc (if I remember right) NCB on my Getz but the sad part is that the car is registered in my uncle's name (we did that to avail loyalty bonus from Hyundai) so I cannot use it for myself.
And yes. This workshop specialises in Skoda and VW cars so I kinda trust them.
Regarding the color, the Candy White is same as the non-metallic white color in Maruti and Hyundai and other companies as far as the untrained eye can tell. Candy White is a non-metallic color so it should not be hard for them to match color perfectly. If it was the Punto (which is Bossa Nova White in my case), then I might have had some doubts.
Will get the car today evening. I can see the car only on Saturday because I am in college at the moment.
Will update with pictures and costs accordingly.

Princess is back
Hey guys. After the small tussle with a good-for-nothing Activa resulted in many dents and scratches on Princess, I had sent her to a trusted local workshop to get her sorted out.
Good news is that she is back home in the best of health. All the scratches and dents have been removed without any tell-tale signs being left behind. My girl says the door looks as good as it did before and there is no difference in color as far as she can tell. She sent me a couple of pictures on WhatsApp and I must say it looks exactly like it did before the incident. So I am pretty pleased [:D]

Costs:

Denting and painting - Rs. 3450
Tip - Rs. 200 (because they picked up the car from home and dropped it back home after getting it repaired)
To the good-for-nothing owner of the Active - Rs. 1000

Total damage to the pocket - Rs. 4650

I must say I think it is pretty cheap because a similar job on my Getz had the guys quoting Rs. 7000 in kollam (my hometown).

I will post pictures this weekend when I get to see my Princess [:)]

Sorry guys for being a couple of days late. I didn't have internet connection at home so could not upload pictures.

Here are the pics of Princess after she returned from surgery [:D]
There is absolutely no color difference or loss in sheen which makes the work done outstanding. I expected to know the difference somehow but there is absolutely no
giveaway.
I've put a picture of the RHS rear door too just for comparison.

An another note, I did 11000 kms today. So that is 1000 kms in 2 weeks!!! I am shocked. I didn't know I drove this much [glasses] My Getz used to do 1000 kms in two months. So it shows how much I love driving Princess.

Nice work buddy, everything seems new and in order now, congrats. Enjoy your ride [clap].
Yes mate. Thank you. Waiting for the service though because a couple of minor rattles have cropped up (unnoticed by non-petrolheads). This is because the road to my house is non-existant. [frustration]

Thank you Rightnow. My house is a small and humble one [:)]
And yes. Like I said, they did an excellent job. All the creases and lines on both sides are exactly the same. I tried hard to find a tiny imperfection along the lines but it is all perfect.
