I prefer the second one too :)

Regarding the Abarth, I'm not sure they can manage to sell a 160+ bhp hot hatch for anywhere less than Rs. 15l. This is India after all, with all the outrageous taxes and stuff.
I think in the UK itself, the Abarth costs the equivalent of Rs. 13l or so. So obviously it will be priced much much more here in India.

Only time will tell about the future of abarth in india. If anyhow punto is priced even above 15-16 lac i think it would be the only sports car(proper sports car not just badges ) in this low cost.

Regarding the sports car part, true. But how many of us would buy one at such a price? I know I wouldn't I know many others who wouldn't even though they'd be discussing heatedly about it.
The only people who I guess would buy it are true Fiat lovers with lots of extra cash to spare.

A new milestone:

10,000 kms in 5 months and 3 weeks.

The car has been a pleasure to drive all this while. No niggles as such except for the handbrake jamming which happened in the first week of ownership.
It gives a consistent mileage of 16-17kmpl in the city and around 20-23 kmpl in the highways.
No service or check-up done as yet. I did wheel alignment and balancing twice.

No modifications done as yet. Still searching for some place nearby which does a good job of blackening the roof and other minor mods. Still searching for the perfect set of alloys.

I hope the Polo continues to be good to us and throws us no unwanted surprises *touchwood*

Just go to any acc. shop having good film installer and get the vinyl installed, just keep an eye for the bubbles. Nothing to worry about any other thing.

I did ask around but none of them were willing to do it because they said it was difficult and other load of bull. So thought I'd ask around in Trivandrum and get it done here because I've seen quite a few cars here with vinyl roofs and it looked like the job was done pretty well.

Congrats mate. 10k in close to 6 months is great running. Its nice to know that your car is also running niggle free. Mine is an year old now and still to encounter even a small rattle from any corner of the car or any technical glitch. Mighty impressed.

Hope your Polo keeps those smiles on in the future also. Drive safe!

Thank you. I hope your Polo keeps you all smiles too. The car kinda grows on you even though you might not be entirely satisfied with it when you first got it. But damn. It is a good piece of engineering. All the small niggles apart, the car still makes me smile every now and then.

Well @shankar is on the forum and belongs to trivandrum, he is trying to install it as DIY, why don't you both help each other and get the things done for both of you.[:)]

Germans know only one thing - Precision in engineering. Everything seems thoughtfully placed and incorporated.
True. The only downside I see compared to the Koreans is that the Polo is low on equipment. But then. Get behind that wheel and you tend to forget everything else.

I know. I did talk to him on the forum. But the problem is I have university exams coming up next month and so I am basically unavailable for the coming two months. I have found one guy in Kollam who said he can do the gloss vinyl roof (he also has fake carbon fibre vinyl which looked and felt pretty decent). He also did not quote an exorbitant price. I saw a car on which he had worked and the finish looked pretty good for the price. I will contact him sometime soon and see how everything goes.

Will update here accordingly :)

Either fill the car with every possible feature but forget the basics or provide the few basics with quality and perfection at given cost. Choice is yours.
