Yes mate. Thank you. Waiting for the service though because a couple of minor rattles have cropped up (unnoticed by non-petrolheads). This is because the road to my house is non-existant. [frustration]
Same is the case with me, but my ride don't rattle due to this, my ride is rattling these days because of some work not done properly by FASS. Soon i would be visiting FASS to get rid of them.

Yup. I have a doubt too because one of the rattles originates from the rear seat if I'm right. It started after they removed the seats to install the seat cover. I think they must have forgotten to tighten some nut properly.

I am sure there's lot of happiness inside, how can it be small!!
Off topic I know.

Rattle from where? Doors?
Yes sir. Small home, happy home [:)]
One of the rattles, like I told Vivek, originates from the rear door. Then there is this squeak that originates from the front passenger door. I had told them to check it out when I had given the car for the summer campaign but they did not do it. I thought I'll take the matter up with them when I give it for service.

Seat rattling may be due to rusting or due to loose nuts. In my case rattling was there due to loose joints, now it has become mute.
I also hear some feeble sound from driver's side door. Going to give the car soon at workshop.

It may also be due to rubber/plastic seals in the seat locking mechanism/latch. I know as i was also having similar problem and they(FASS) simply installed tape and everything is fine with the seat now.

I hope it isn't rust. I heard that the pre-2012 (if I remember right) versions had the seat frame replaced FOC. They did not replace the seat frames in my car when I gave it for the summer campaign. The summer campaign itself was pathetic. The washing of the car was horrible but due to lack of time because exams are coming up soon, I did nothing at the moment. Waiting for the 15000 kms service now.

Seat locking mechanism as in? Do you mean the seat belt or something else? The rear seat rattles have reduce a lot now (I hardly hear it unless the road conditions are really that bad). The door squeaks have also gone down. Maybe the service centre people did something to it. No idea. Anyways. Let me see if it crops up again.

Great work done by the local mechanics. Can't differentiate as to which door was re-painted. Kudos! About the rattling noise from the rear seat, it must be from some lose nuts as you said you got seat covers installed in your car. In any case, get the seat frames checked for any amount of rusting too. If at all its there, you can get them replaced free of cost under warranty.

Thank you GM88. Yes. The door looks exactly like it was before the incident. They have managed to get the creases on the door perfect (it had flattened when it hit the scooter). I am extremely happy I must say.
Regarding the rattles, yes. Most probably 15000 kms will be done in the coming month at the rate at which I am driving. My father will be here then to take the car for service as my exams are around the corner. I'll tell him about the rattles which he should be able to convey to the A.S.S and get rectified [:)]

Fuel efficiency

I must say I am extremely happy with the FE of this little car. I got an average of 17.3 kmpl according to Fuelio (I use this app to monitor things relating to fuel. Lovely little app.) The worst I got was 14.5 which happened when I was stuck in very heavy traffic for a couple of hours. But I get at least 16 kmpl at all other times.
Coming from a petrol car that gave me a FE of around 12-13 kmpl when I drive, I must say I am impressed.

BTW guys with Polo CL and HL. In the MID setting where average fuel efficiency is shown, what is the efficiency that counter number 2 shows? Counter number 1 shows the average fuel efficiency for a particular tripl. Does 2 show the total average fuel efficiency? Or the average after each full tank?

(By counter number 2, I mean the second display you enter after you press the reset button (the small button below the wiper stalk) when you are in the avg. FE display).

Today, the first counter showed an average of 21.5 kmpl (which was the average for my 100 km trip) whereas the second counter showed 17.4 kmpl (this second counter always has a value whereas the first one usually does not have a value if the car has been switched off for more than a couple of hours (it shows --.-km\l)

VipinLJ, As far as I understood from my experience with my HL TDI MID, there are two avg mileage displays and two trip meters. If your skip your MID to the trip meter, you will see two counters as you see for the avg mileage.

Here is how it works. Trip 1 and Avg Mileage 1 reset every time the engine remains off more more than 2hrs, while Trip 2 and Avg Mileage will keep showing the data until it is reset.

You can reset Trip 2 by skipping to Trip 2 display and keeping the reset button (on the bottom of the stalk) pressed for some 5 seconds. Trip 2 will get reset to 0. You will also notice that Avg Mil 2 also got reset. So Avg 2 will show the avg mileage of trip 2 distance until it is reset.

This is my understanding based on my own experience - even VW service guys are not sure about this. Others, please correct me if I am wrong.

Cheers

Counter 1 is for 2 hours that I am sure.
Counter 2 is for longer duration, not sure how long. Will keep an eye from now.

Wait a minute. There are two trip meters?!?!?! [surprise] All this while, I thought the Polo had only one trip meter. Will check it out next week when I see my car. Left the car at home because I have exams going on and I didn't want my car to be parked out in the sun and rain for two whole weeks.

Counter 1 is for 2 hours that I am sure.

I did not know that the car had two trip meters. Maybe what hobeezz said is right. I will check again next week when I see my car. I have never seen the second counter showing a blank ever whereas the first one does show blank after the car has been switched off for 2 or 3 hours.
