Re: The Mighty Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Drives In [25K Kms Crossed]
Service Report 30K Service or 4th Service as per Service booklet :-
The vehicle has run 26.5K so far and completed 2 years ! Bulletproof reliability and niggle free ownership - so much so i can term it borderline boring.
The usual service checks done :-
1)All 4 Brake Pads check
2) All fluids check
3) Oil and Oil Filter replaced as this was a one year interval - i am following one year interval for oil changes and go with Mitsubishi recommended synthetic oil for now.
3) Torquing of bolts and suspension check
4) Rotated Tyres, but didn't use the spare (should have done it on second thoughts but just was lazy!)
5) Propeller Shaft greasing
6) Air Filter Cleaning
7) AC Filter Installation
8) AC Belt replacement at 30K
7) Typical servicing checks
8) Flashing the ECU for indicator light one tap function
9) Remove the Memory card from the kenwood head unit - will update maps separately.
Total Damages :- 12.8k
Oil - 7k
AC Filter - 1.8k (I procured from Thailand OEM)
AC Belt :- 1k (ridiculous price)
Labour - 1k
Oil Filter - 1k
+ Taxes
Here are some of images :-
Hood open - ready for transfusion
The air filter before cleaning up with compressed air, reminds me all the time to go for K&N - hopefully soon.
Liquid Gold, Oil Filter and AC belt
Getting all the brake pads checked, surprisingly all of them have lasted well and will last further easily, hard to predict, but my initial target of 30K on original pads seems pretty easy now, lets see how far can it go. That puts an end to the brake pad conundrum many owners have raised, my tip to owners, drive nice and easy and you will get a better life! Also i have procured a brake pad set from thailand in anticipation, looks like i wont be using it for a little bit more.
Under body checks and Torquing of bolts, every time i peep inside i am reassured of the bulletproof underpinnings.
AC Belt has a 30K replacement tenure, it did look fine and taut - but still replaced it as per their norms, the current one will serve as a backup for any future mishap
AC Filter installation process :- For some really weird reason the HM has dropped the AC filter in the Pajero Sport, thanks to the tip from A.G i managed to procure it from Thailand and install. I think its now available at dealers as HM is retrospectively fitting it.
Open the glove-box and remove it from the hinges, remove the four screws and take out he black plastic panel.
There is a rectangular AC filter panel, cut the black parts to make way for the filter to go in
The paper based AC filter, Before you install it thoroughly clean/blow the area underneath this panel and clear off all dust from the pre filter era, new PS owners might want to check if this already exists in their cars and if not get this fitted asap. This will go a long way in enhancing the AC life.
Fits, nice and easy and simply bolt it there, mind the direction as per what is marked.
Once again thanks to a tip off from A.G i hooked up the MUT to the PS and had a 400ms flasher function added to the indicator, so now you can single tap and have it flash 3 times (400ms) or set it up for 6 times (800ms) - there are few other diagnostic options but i didn't find anything useful, i wish there was an option to auto lock doors!
Post the service I saw a beauty being washed, sorry for being a pervert and clicking !
Then the long drive to the farm happily posing on the way!
