On a serious note, I am sure plenty would be interested in this mod, am not sure if Arup got this done already, he is at Delhi though, Sharpshooter (Giri at Mumbai) might be interested too.

Its been no update really and this vehicle makes me wonder what to update from a thread perspective - it just behaves immaculately as ever, no drama no fuss.

I have done over 21k now and spent no time on maintenance apart from the service trips. From a thread updation perspective , this is as bland as it gets.

The FE has dipped south of 12kmpl last few trips as the owner is developing a heavy right foot, this needs curbed and moderated. That apart some R&D is ongoing on what next to add on the japanese samurai.

Hi IR,

I have been following your thread for the last few weeks. And as it happens, I am taking delivery of my PS 4x4 MT in the next couple of days from Shakti Motors, Vashi.

This is going to be my first SUV. So far have owned only sedans. In terms of driving, I expect it to be mostly in the city and a bit of highways. I would certainly want to do a bit of offroading.

The stock tyres on the 4x4 are the Apollo HTs. Should I ask for a change to ATs (considering that I will be doing some mickey mouse offroading maybe once in a couple of months)? Or in your opinion are the HTs good enough to live with? What would be the pros and cons of HTs v/s ATs?

Hey Harsh, a very warm welcome to TAI firstly, and congratulations on the new PS , please share some pictures!

If you have the options of changing tyres at the time of purchasing , do it, but it makes sense only if you are offroading. Word of caution mickey mouse offroading will eventually lead to addiction

The Apollos while they are labelled as HTs, the tread pattern is very similar to the Apollo AT which used to come in the older PS(mine). For minor offroad trysts and mickey mouse stuff they are fine.

I have been living, happily with the OE Apollo Hawkz, which are similar to the currently being offered Apterras for the past 30k kms with no issues at all. Have driven on all kinds of terrain, both dry and wet, and they ve held up well without a single puncture or uneven wear till date.

Thanks IR & Chetak. I have spoken with the dealer regarding a change, and will check out the options. Else will stick to the stock Apterras.

Update is vehicle has crossed 24k - next major service is due in November. All is absolutely as it was on day one, that way this vehicle is boring to own.

The last full tank gave 12.8 kmpl.
