Re: Tata Developing New Hatchback (Kite) To Replace Indica

Yup, the Kite hatch will replace the Indica V2(which hardly sells now, anyway). They are using the same platform of the original V2, with modified/all new body panels, new suspension, steering, and interiors. Apart from this, this car will get 1 litre 3 cylinder super fuel efficient diesel engine, and the revotron also will be offered.

Tata Motors is seriously on a Killing Spree !!!!! launching vehicles back to back. Kite is a great initiative, must say as the old model Indica is vintage now. Tata has planned to equip Kite with more amazing features and obviously it will consist the all new Revotron engine which is super fuel efficient. Waiting to see Kite on road ! Kudos to TML Great Job done Indeed [cheers]

I feel they shouldn't. Coz it's the darling of the taxi market. Now if they do, the cab owners will be compelled to buy this new car. Hence this new innovation will again become a cab. Better they continue Indica only in LS in both V2 and eV2 variants.

Yeah.
I did see it when I had visited the TML plant@Pune this August.
It was camouflaged though. Yet it gave a feeling of a mean machine[;)]

Actually the IndicaV2 hardly sells now, even in the taxi market. It is the Indigo CS that is constantly selling in the cab market. As far as cab wallas going for kite, well now they have found a better option all across. Guess which car, cue : 'Q revolution', lol.

Presently tata Indica selling less numbers then tata Vista because most of the cab operators are preferring two buy tata Vista so if tata deck two discontinue the Indica v2 model it'd does mean that cab operators will shift to buy new Kite hatchback because because Kite hatchback will be a expensive in maintenance then TATA Vista TDI so in near future tata vista/manza will be a taxi valla favorite cars

I don't know about your trend bro, but in Hyderabad all the new TV channels and other companies have more and more bought the eV2 and the Indigo eV2 and Vista are lesser seen.

So, daily I see more eV2 than Vistas.

Polo like tail lamps[;)]
Rear door design looks very different from normal hatchbacks.
That difference is what Tata Motors wants now a days in designs. Looks promising and very different.

Rear angle of this car reminds me of Honda Brio. Did anyone feel so???

Now heres the confusion, there are two distinctly different cars being spotted in pune roads. One is the picture above (Msg No #98) and the one here. So whats the real story ?

Agree. We have already got the news maybe a couple of months back that the KITE sedan with be a notch back, a-la, Gen. 1 Skoda Octavia. It would be interesting to see how well will TATA Motors design engineers package it..
