Re: Tata Developing New Hatchback (Kite) To Replace Indica

thank god , at least its not indica zica [cry]
I feel that TATA Indica/Indigo brands are important brand names for tata motors due to taxi dominance brand value lowered in PV segment but now people moving towards TATA Vista indica selling less numbers then TATA Vista. So i think its time to plug off the indica brand for limited time period about more then two years or more like how maruti did with Beleno brand TATA can bring All New Generation Car with using Indica Brand to rule the market another decades [clap]

So it is official Zica comes from ZIppy CAr.

I am fingers crossed. Tatas may come up with antrotious "ZI zi zip zip zippy Zica" jingle ad, just like the muh muh multi drive. IF they do so then [frustration]

With momentum built with MadeofGreat I sincerly hope they dont screw it up with Zi Zi zica

I have lived with that name for 3 years and that also with a lot of mischievous friends. So I can say that Zica is a safer bet and I guess people will find this also acceptable when we have cars with names like Creta, Celerio etc.

Tata Motors is going to unveil the new small car Zica in Goa on the 1st of December. Exclusive images of the undisguised Zica before the global unveil and the car will be launched in the Indian market in January 2016, just before the auto expo.
The front is dominated with the honeycomb-grille and chrome elements on the humanity line and around the fog lamps. The top end XT variant gets alloy wheels, fog lamps, colored door handles, ORVM with turn indicators, LED tail lamps, rear parking sensors, defogger with rear wiper and wash, integrated spoiler

Re: Tata Developing New Hatchback (Kite) To Replace Indica

I was just about to post these and you overtook me.[:D]
Surprisingly great looking hatch-back from TAMO! Looks Aggressive in a Gentle and Subtle manner. There are some minor resemblence to the Brio and Ford Figo, but looks lovely and would be even better in brighter shades. I would love to see this car in the Bright red shade of the Bolt.
Seems to be feature and quality rich. If that is true, then it is gonna be a tough time for rivals Celerio, Beat and i10. Kudos Tata![clap]

half of my eagerness to see TATA ZICA in production was goan iam happy to see him he is soo handsome design looks quiet premium and stunning looks and i hope that plenty of storage bins offered in cabin to feel like home [:D] but its looks like nose of the car is too sharpe im worrying that people will start making comments like its too sharpe nose edge may have chance to damage easily with slite touch to apposite car while driving[surprise]

Even I was pretty much worried on the same line.. However am kind of satisfied with the front design and no resemblance with Indica family at least from the pics.
Few highlights I noticed from the pics:

Dual tone interiors
Great design which will lead to great compact sedan. What comes first Zica or Sway (egg or Chicken)?
Nice touch to fog lamps

Could have been done (my own wish list)
Power bulge on the bonnet
Bit small unit of rear lights seems big from side looks (will conclude after more pics or checking it in front)
Different alloy designs or maybe same one with dual tone

Hope Tata will price it aggressively

Good job Tata:)

I can notice that the door pads seem to be great in design and also having a bottle holder. That chrome finished inner door handle looks lovely.
The parcel shelf seems to be big and so I guess there is a big boot underneath. Also there seems to be better and bigger rear integrated head-rests; almost the size of the Honda City's rear headrests, which means better support and protection.
It doesn't seem too sharp and is on the leagues of the Figo and Aspire. I don't think it is something to be worried of.

It is different from indica, vista and bolt .Actually this is much smarter than the bolt.If it is priced lesser than bolt then what will happen with already less selling bolt? TM needs some aggressive selling strategy.

Re: Tata Developing New Hatchback (Kite) To Replace Indica

From the pics, Looks good. I like the fact that designers have gone extra mile to finish the lines they've started. Look at the rear boot lid, no abrupt end to any lines. They all finish smoothly into the rear hatch door.

And that LandRoveresque rear spoiler finisher looks good. Have to see it in the flesh though.

Promising.[clap]

PS: This should now firmly put an end to "it still looks like Indica" nonsense.

Tata Zica Spy Pics Completely Revealed

A new styling direction for Tata Motors.

Seen here are the first images of the Tata Zica, sans camouflage, ahead of its world premiere next week.

The Zica, which was earlier known by its codename, Kite, is Tata Motors’ all-new offering in the compact car segment, and will rival the likes of the Hyundai i10, Maruti Celerio and Chevrolet Beat, when its launched in early-January.

Seen in these spyshots is likely the top-end variant of the Zica, as it is equipped with alloy wheels, chrome-highlights for the foglamps, grille and interior door handles, a rear wiper and rear parking sensors.

The spyshot also reveals that the Zica will get a dual-tone black-and-beige interior, individual rear headrests, and 60:40 split folding rear seats. Apart from this, turn indicators on wing mirrors, a Harman-sourced sound system, front and rear power windows, steering mounted controls, ABS, EBD and dual airbags are expected to be seen on the Tata Zica.

The Zica is underpinned by an extensively modified version of the Tata Indica platform. The highlight of the Zica, according to reports, will be its new engines. On the petrol front, a 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine (an all-new engine from the ground up) will drive the Zica via a 5-speed manual transmission. The diesel engine is reported to be a 1.05-liter three-cylinder unit, and it could receive manual and automated manual transmissions.
