I have same reasons like you for AMC and this is why I did not opt it. I had a detailed discussion with the executive regarding AMC. His views were that normally AMC is 15-20% cheaper. He also informed that Safari owners have taken huge benifits on AMC.

He suggested not to take AMC right now as they themselves are not aware of the service cost of Tiago as price list of spare parts is yet to come. I already made good relations with him and the service manager there. Now the best suggestion they gave was when you will come for proper service (2nd service. 1st one is general check up), we will be knowing the service cost. The SA will give you an estimate of the service cost. If you feel at that time that AMC option will be cheaper, we will give you AMC immediately . Also in case of some part failure which is not covered in warranty we will activate AMC at that time as well.

So bro AMC can be taken later on. However do remember it will cover 30k km only irrespective of when you start it. AMC is just a peace of mind. Good relations go a long way in my view. After interacting with them I am confident that I have friendly people to take care of any concern.

Regarding TATA after sale service (For people who have doubts), I would say they are pretty good. I have no past experience to share and its only as per my first and only experience at the time of first service.

Smart and customer friendly service person there[clap]. And lucky you man, my dealer has still not received the AMC/EW booklets from TML [frustration]

Is there any time limit for taking AMC like there is time limit for extended warranty? If we don't buy EW within 90 days, the price increases.

@ Gajraj : I have Diesel. I love it. F.E is 21 km/l.

@ k2016 : I don't think there is any time limit for AMC. It covers 2 years or 30k. If you start say after 6 month with a odo reading of 10k, it will cost you same but you will get only 1.5 yrs or 20k km to use it. Since second service is a proper service, so it doesn't matter much if you start from second service on wards. Beyond that it doesn't make any sense IMO.

As per my understanding, you need to opt for the AMC until the first proper service. That means, in case of Tiago it will be the 7500 kms or 6 months service. The AMC does not cover any 30K kms of the car. It is only for the first 30K kms of the car.

I was also offered an AMC during my Nano's 1st proper service at 10,000 kms and was specifically told that I cannot opt for the AMC after that point.
