Today went for td of tiago @ shree shyam motors ,jaipur. Receptionist was busy with her earphone.about 10 SA were there but nobody was interested . they insisted each other to attend us.finally one of them attended us. He was clueless about car accept power steering,windows & harman ice. Took the car for td. It was xz revotron. Well maintained. Low vibrations and ac was chiller. Nice pickup too.harman music system was fantastic. Impressed with car but disappointed by enthusiasm of sales guys. When i told SA I am a doctor , he said sir why are you taking tiago , you should go with zest Lol. This car is an attention grabber. I saw many people watching tiago with mouth open and peeping from windows of cars.

Passenger Airbag damaging front windshield is a serious flaw, atleast it evokes an unwanted damage otherwise which could have been avoided & this might pose somewhat risk to front passengers too.

But, i guess there could be another reason for windshield damage like,
-As can be seen in the pic of accidental car, front windshield have bits of Tree branches on it & around wipers, which could've damaged the windshield.
-Passenger impact on Airbag might have transmitted it to windshield or front passenger could've been wearing seatbelts.

This design flaw seriously needs reconsideration.

Second shift brings smile on my face.. it has been 5 weeks now, no confirmation of delivery. I booked on April 25 (promised 4 weeks, later 6), but I don't think it is going to happen by next week

Please anyone tell what is the production capacity right now at the plant?

and what is the last date of booking who got delivery?

I believe we cannot predict this based on prior deliveries. Here is where dealerships play their greedy games and allot cars as they wish (especially for people who are ready to pay full price of the car upfront) vs booking seniority. Yes, I think it’s time to actually talk a little bit more about the figures on the Tiago. Tiago has ever since it got launched from approximately seven weeks ago, great momentum in the market. I think you have all seen the test results of the Tiago and it’s generally considered as the hatchback item [ph] at this point of time. The momentum that it has created in the market has effectively exceeded our expectations in terms of volume, and I come back to the statement in a minute.
As we talk tonight, we have exceeded 20,000 orders. We have seen by the officially announced statistics of retail and the wholesales [ph] in the month of April, more to come at the end of this month as far as the figures are concerned. And due to the fact that it has exceeded our expectations, it has also exceeded our production capacity, but not only because of the total number, in particular because of a different product structure, as initially expected. The initial assumption for the setup of the capacity in [indiscernible] for power train, for engine as well as for a complete vehicle was actually 60% petrol, 40% diesel. And we have expected a fair mix of volume over the top speed execution levels. What we see at this point of time is very good region by region 70% to 80%, total share of petrol, which exceeds our engine capacity. And we have also seen in the last couple of weeks, during the initial orders placed, very strong order book towards the top end model, the effect, which also exceeds on the couple of components our capacity.
If I take the total capacity framework, we see on most of the models, delivery period in the vicinity of six weeks for the top end model, it can even go up to 12 weeks. But our customers are pretty patient for the ones who have actually placed their firm orders and making a down payment and most of them are really willing to wait for the product as we are currently ramping up the capacity by launching a second shift to structurally improve the output capacity.

Yes, I am in frequent touch with dealer and I agree they are playing games with customers. From my understanding cars are allotted on their choice, not on booking priority. TML should be looking into this and allot cars as they promised. Unfortunately, there is no way to know what is booking status

Final word for me from them was billing will be done by 31st May and will get a clear picture by June 1st. Hopefully, I will get a positive response from them today.

Hi. It's just not clear how a cracked windshield can be a threat to the occupants when the windshields are laminated and designed to crackle to bits on impact. Windshields falling off on impacts are not uncommon in crash tests as well and they are not considered a serious safety hazard. AFAIK, a cracked windshield is a much safer bet for a co-driver without a seat belt as his chances of head injury due to the impact with windshield will be cushioned out a bit.

Glad to know the passengers are safe in a car colliding head on. I can't see any trace of airbags in Zest picture, I hope it worked, or is that a non airbag variant?

Today my friend was driving his Tiago and i was sitting besides him. A traffic cop pulled us over and my friend panicked since he had forgotten his documents home. He had to stop the car by the road for the cop.

The cop knocked the window and instead of asking for license and other docs, started peeping in to see it's interiors. He made my friend come out and himself sat on the driver's seat. He started inquiring about the car like a prospective customer. Then he told us that his son had booked this car and he was very happy to see it on the road. We were panicking when he pulled us over and now we were all in smiles :) thanks to the people garnering this car is doing.

Yesterday i have seen berry Red metallic XZ variant coming out of carrier truck near Brand factory store, Tolichowky, Hyderabad. Gotta say it looks fabulous under lights on the road and it is simply smashing those who ever booked Red Berry XZ without even checking out wont be disappointed as its paint finish is similar to i20 Red or my favourite VW Polo in red. India is maybe only country apart from some third world nations where you fear when you see a cop than you feel secured.

This car is surely more adorable than any other car in the market. Even BOLT too looks more adorable except from the side profile. It is a feast to the eyes.

On another note. I have seeing a lot of BOLTs off late in Hyderabad. Most going into the TAXI segment. I'm expecting good results this week, maybe around 13K this month

Well not this month atleast. Again sold 8617 vehicles in May 2016. Cars were 7787. Which means tiago should be atmost around 3000 units.
