Dear TAIers,

This is Arun, a newbie to this forum. I have been following the forum for quite some time and am thrilled to be a part of it now.

I was in the market for my first car and zeroed in on Tiago after reading all the reviews on this thread & booked the same in the 3rd week of April with Concorde motors in Chennai.

I had opted for Tiago XZ (P) - Berry Red. Initially the waiting period was 5 weeks. However, my SA just told me that due to some unknown issues in red color deliveries, the car might be made available only by end June or early to mid July.

I would like to know if someone else is facing a similar situation and any workaround is available for the same.

Yes, you cannot opt for any AMC if you are not taking extended warranty.

I don't think that is the case..my dealer told I can opt for AMC with EW. He said you can opt for EW before normal warranty expires.

I know another member in the Tiago owners group who is waiting for xz red. For now only red xm are being manufactured mostly it seems. For xz you need to wait more.

Finally people started comparing Tiago with Figo.....

Just waiting which car would be compared with Tiago. Why leaving i20 P base version with TIAGO top End diesel. There should be rationale when comparing cars. Apples and Oranges are being compared. dozen oranges vs 10 apples and blow over the web stating that apples are better than oranges.

You put this article before me. Grrr. Well it is indeed a very good article to read as well. Its good to see at the booking numbers by April end. May could see some more swell to the numbers.

Its a good beginning for Tiago however cannot be compared with that of Kwid or Suzuki model.

Private buyer and not the cabbies are now noticing the Tata cars and being considered. If the initiatl ASS and Sales experience is good, it will definitely help tata motors in long run. With Zest and Bolt it made people look that those cars, With Tiago a people are coming and buying the car. Should be considered as a nice start.

^^ Thanks for the head's up @vikyjoshi, TML under the new MD is taking baby but sure footed steps, and they are taking customer and online feedback seriously, and not hurrying half baked launches, I am sure by the end of this year or max this fiscal (ie March 2017), when most of their in pipeline products are out, we would have a vibrant Tata showroom experience.

Good to hear that they ar surging ahead at a stead pace. TIAGO is surely garnering good numbers.

I see a lot of BOLTs on Hyderabad road in the past few weeks. They are mostly with T board. The chart might cross 1k this time.

I have observed the BOLT and VISTA from the Rear end. BOLT looks so compact and small from the rear, it looks compact and smaller that the TIAGO. It is actually a brilliant design.

You shouldn't be paying a penny more than the booking amount, but if the dealer is really assuring you of earliest delivery, you can pay it. But it is at your own risk and depends on the dealer's assurance and relationship.

Absolutely No! until the SA/ Dealer confirms that your car has landed in stockyard. Pay only the road tax amount (if you have paid for booking earlier) and then let the car come. Once you check the car and are fully satisfied with it only then go ahead with more payment. Don't fall for the pressure by the dealer. This attitude of asking for more and more payment prior to delivery is a old trick so that the buyer is eventually on the mercy of the dealer. Once the big sum of payment is with the dealer, you'll have no say about your new car. So avoid it at all costs buddy.

Thank you Akash!! Just now the dealer called me to confirm that the vehicle has reached the stockyard. This happened after i made a complaint to Tata motors regional office about the delay in delivery. He asked me to make the full payment. What precautions should i take next?

Considering my average usage will be around 750 km per month, what should i opt for EW or AMC or both?

Ensure few things. You get a VIN number for the car. It means that the car is allotted to you. Then you do the complete PDI before you pay the amount. Once you are satisfied with the PDI then you can sign the dotted line and pay the amount.

Congrats @@mit, do a through PDI at the stockyard, carry this comprehensive PDI list.
