Looooong Live Zest!!
Bracket fitted. Time taken 1 Hour. Tata Motors Instructed to fit without removing the Head Light and Bumper . But I asked service person to remove it and fit t he bracket. Have to test it while raining.

Hello Vaibhav,

I apologize for the wrong information given previously as I was mislead by the Tejaswi Motors, Hyderabad accessories person. Below is my story:

On October 3rd, I booked a Tata Zest XT Pristine White with Tejaswi Motors and was given a delivery commitment of 3-4 weeks max.

After 1 week, I get a call from the sales person from the dealer and informs me that a XT is available finish your loan formalities and take the car. The 4th day after I was informed, I called to the bank manager and asked why still the loan is not processed? I was told that there is no car available at the dealer, so we stopped the processing. So, I called the sales person and asked what happened to my car and why did you ask me to finish loan processing and how a bank manager came to know that there is no vehicle available and not the customer in the first place? The loan took so much time so we gave the vehicle to someone else. Fine, then you should ask me to do the down payment so that I would have blocked the car. Why did you not tell me that? No answer from sales person again.

After 1 more week, the sales person calls me again and tells me that " We are sending an apology letter as we were not able to deliver on time". I told that no apology letter is required, just give me a confirmed date on when to get the delivery of my vehicle. After 2 more days, the sales person calls me again and gives the date as 15th November and confirmed it like Hitler confirmed Germany's victory.

On November 13th, I get call from Tata Motors Ltd that my vehicle will be delivered around December 22nd. So, I was really frustrated as I made all the arrangements for 15th to be special and became a fool again. So, I went to the dealer and cancelled the booking by giving a letter and I forgot to take my booking receipt which is needed for cancellation. So, few more days later I again visited the dealer, submitted the receipt and a fresh letter for cancellation. I was still hoping to get the Zest.

So 2 hours later, I call to the TL of the sales person and told him that I would take the Zest if you can make the delivery within a week's time. He told me that he will give a confirmation by next day. So, 2 days later I tried calling him twice and his team member calls me and says it will take 4-5 days for the delivery and this time it is a confirmed victory for all of us.

So, I finally call on 25th November to get a Zest and they say that they have a space grey XT and white XMS and please take them. I was totally disappointed and started an argument with him which I believe that I won based on the point that, should I choose the color and variant or its you?

The TL asked time for 2 hrs to resolve this issue and in the meanwhile I called the Concorde motors and asked them about the delivery time of a Zest XT Pristine White. And I was told that a vehicle is in transit already and it will come in 2 days and they can allot that to me if I can make the booking amount. So, I told him to send an executive to my home and take the payment and was done without any issue.

So, today I got the vehicle at the Concorde motors and finalized the accessories with the executive and went to check the vehicle once more. As soon as I started the vehicle, I felt it was a 2000kms driven diesel engine ready for the 1st servicing. The accelerator was loose for a 1 inch length and then gets the grip. The engine was producing sound that of a diesel engine and guess what the manager got a doubt if he was showing me the diesel variant [frustration]. And even the vehicle was vibrating very minute, but it should not for a brand new vehicle. I felt the car the same as my Chevrolet Optra 1.8LT petrol variant. The car was not quite. So, I asked the manager to get me another car and I was told by him that tomorrow he will give me another vehicle. I should have taken the Chasis number, so with my crude intelligence put a pen mark on the alloy side, so that he will not show the same car to me tomorrow [evil]

Accessories I have Opted are:
Bumper Protectors
Mudflaps
Carpets
Perfume
Leather Seats
Seat Cushions
Portable GPS Navigation System
Rain Visors
Car Cover
Rear Parking sensor with camera
Thinking on Body Kit, 8 spoke Black alloys and rear parking camera with IRVM

@don.lohith,

I got the 18 spoke alloy instead of the 8 spoke alloy (I liked the 8 spoke better for the Revotron XT variant).
The cost of the black alloy was 4480 rupees per alloy wheel. No refund on the current alloys will be given.
So, I simply took what I got and came back to home :)

Got busy with my brother in law's wedding. Whitey was used exhaustively for the round trips clocking 700 odd km in total. Wedding was in Tiptur so had to do couple of round trips from Bangalore.
Both the trips had to bare full load of what a car can take. To explain 5 fully grown adults with two kids weighing 15 to 20 Kg. Boot was again fully loaded without space to even breathe. Though I personally didn't like to load her so much but felt helpless due to social obligation [anger] Imagine 160 Km with so much load.

The road from Tumkur bypass (after the toll) till the highway back has gotten worse with state government doing nothing on it. I was cursing till I reached the highway back. Never took that route again.
However Whitey was calm and didn't refute back. It was pleasure driving the car.

The decorator had put that red plastic flower thingy exactly on the sensor covering it entirely. I didn't notice and when I engaged reverse gear it started beeping loudly with RED indicator on the LCD. I could not understand whats going wrong since nothing was blocking the car, it beeped for about 15-20 seconds and suddenly I see a message on the display telling the "reverse parking stopped working, please visit the nearest TML service centre to get it rectified" I was like what the heck. Then I went back and noticed this red plastic flower blocking the sensor.Removed it and placed it to the side. Verified by engaging reverse gear and things were normal.

The bouquet put on the bonnet will be tied to the wiper at the top and to the grille at the bottom using a thin steel wire. You need to be carefull with this. Enough paper, plastic or something which is thick should be used under the wire as cladding. Else it will scratch your bonnet for sure.

I used City mode for the whole 700 Km with AC on for 80% of the time due to afternoon heat. I got around 16.7 Kmpl in the trip overall with 50-60 Km being city drive.

With that the overall average sits at 15.2 Kmpl for ~1500 and I am happy about it.

I bought these Jopasu car duster for 600 from eBay along with Jopasu microfibre cloth for 380. They are good for daily dusting before stepping out. It removes the dust quickly due to its size. Using it is also a breeze given its size. Within a minute or two you can quickly dust off the entire car.

I also got proklear rinseless wash concentrate

Proklear

Found this cover note from the Jopasu team on the microfibre cloth pack. The microfibres do a good job and i would recommend it to anyone trying to wash by themselves. I have kept one light colour for interior and the rest two for body wash.

Guys, Below are the things that I noticed :
1. In the morning when I start the car, the RPM stalls at 1200-1500 and only after few turns on the wheel, it comes back to the normal 650-750.

2. When in the traffic, I hold down the clutch and slowly release while accelerating, it suddenly does to 2K RPM and slowly comes back. Scenario of stall again?

I may be technically very weak with cars, but I certainly believe that something is not right here as I have experience of owning couple of petrol cars and also countless kms of driving experience. Help appreciated.

Hi Guys,

Couple of questions. I have taken delivery of my RED RT XT and have not driven at all after taking delivery on 25th Dec. I have observed few things as i start the engine everyday and keep it on for 10 mins.

1. The engine rpm raises to 1200 and then settles down to 650- 750.
2. There is slight jerk/jump/movement which can be felt in car and in steering also while the car is idiling.

other than the above i could not find any issue as of now. Could you please let me know if these are normal with Revotron or do i need to visit the service center and get it clarified. Thanks in advance.

Hi Sassas,

Yes even I have observed this in the Revotron engine. RPM settling at 600-700 is nothing to worry about.
The slight jerk once in 2-3 seconds while in idle condition was there right from the starting. In fact that was the only thing from which I could understand that the engine was ON. The engine vibration is behaving like this right from the beginning. I will check with the service guy during the first free service but I don't think it would be solved given the severity of it.

Well, below are the mileage figures that I observed from 1000kms of my Zest ride:
ECO:
Loose Traffic: 13-15kmpl
B2B Traffic: 8-10kmpl
Highway: 17-118.5kmpl
CITY:
Loose Traffic: 8-10kmpl
B2B Traffic: 5-8kmpl
Highway: 12-14kmpl
All are in 100% AC. No matter what the mode is I was handling it very delicately with utmost concentration going in very low speeds.
Had a discussion with the executive from Concorde Motors and sending it to the mileage test this Saturday. Once the first service is done and still if I see similar mileages, I will be going forward and raising a complaint against the TATA motors/Concorde Motors in Consumer Court for promising a wrong mileage figures of 15kmpl in City with CITY mode. :)

Yes this behaviour needs to addressed by service centre. I would also take my vehicle later.Let me after your 1st service is done, whether they have corrected this vibration.
