Hi Kishore,

Thanks for going through the thread. I am completely satisfied with the car. Since my usage is limited I have clocked close to 5k Kms only. Haven't faced any niggles till now.

Only concern is of the ASS from Concorde, these guys are still lethargic in their approach. They don't do things pro-actively as one would expect. Even the MIB(Mud In Engine Bay) kit was not followed up. I had to call, find out and get it installed while KHT motors were calling every customer and installing pro actively.

Good to hear straight from the owner.
So many forums and owners have reported niggles but yet they say they are fine with the car.
Do you find the build of the car strong ?
I have seen the doors are pretty heavy, but can we compare the car's build quality almost like the europeans ?

Build quality is decent given the price. Yes doors are heavy and shut with a thud but not as good as the European build. Tata's Chassis are always on the heavier side which shows up in the kerb weight. So the car has to be strong.
However a verdict can be given only based on the NCAP or any such crash tests. I haven't seen any such thing for Zest. But Tata has there own facility to do this and they claim Zest is strongly built to withstand such things.

Are you planning to buy ?

Last year I had been to the TML, Pune.
We got a chance to tour the entire facility and got to see the comlplete production life cycle of Zest.
Part of it was the crash test facility as well. They showed us the videos and explained parameters on the basis of which they had conducted the tests.
They have not revealed the NCAP rating. But its is a very safe car - far safer than its competitors.

In the below video we have the crash test taken at 3:23. This test must be the one you were talking about. Looks much better to me than the tests conducted on tin cans.

It looks to hold its ground inspite of the impact. The odd boot job due to the 4m constraint looks quirky else the rear wouldn't have lost its ground during the crash test.

Well Kishore, to sum up,

Zest is an able underrate car with no defects as such. Being in hyderabad, you can be assured of good to very good service offered by Tejaswi and Concorde. Cannot comment of Mallik cars as I have no experience of the same.

Coming to the car,
Zest is bang for buck car. You name it and the feature is there. The competition is figo Aspire (not launched), Amaze (very bland car), Xcent a decent car but not much of bells and whistels and frankly that car doesnt stand out of crowd. Dzire good feature but i guess its a tin can. All suzuki cars are tin cans and I loath them for the same. But they sell in insane numbers.

If you ask me I would very confidently suggest you the zest. But its your choice.

Its not that I am going by the herd mentality. But there is so much negativity being spread about tata and its after sales service that many in my circle are just avoiding to visit a tata showroom.
Maruti cars are just tin cans. In each and every segment, tata cars are robust and tough with heavy doors.
Just saw an accident near IMAX yesterday happen infront of my eyes.
A swift desire was rear ended by a tata indica. The indica just had a scratch under the head lights and the dzire's boot just got smaller [lol]
Its the mechanicals that I am concerned about. With the figo aspire's pricing out, now I am going to take a drive of both and decide. As far as xcent, dzire and amaze are concerned they don't appeal to me much even if they have long life and are fuel efficient.

Kishore in my view the new ford figo Aspire is a nice package at the prices and for that bomb of an engine just imagine 20-80 third gear in 10 odd sec and 40-100 4th in 11.5 sec. But the downside seems to be a much flimsier build which is new to ford brand as I found out when I checked out the car in a mall. Also the clutch is on the heavier side as I can tell you from my previous ownership with eco sport. This was my primary reason for selling as it was increasingly difficult driving in B2B traffic. My suggestion would be you test drive the car back to back with Zest and decide for yourself. Zest XT diesel is a great package at 7.4 lak ex showroom which cheaper by 50k than the Titanium ver of Aspire. Also Zest has a very light clutch, has a higher ground clearance and a tyre size of 185/60 R15 tyres which ride better. My cousin bought one last year and has done 20 k on and no issues with car and I must say he doesn't pamper it at all.

Zest is a good proposition and VFM car for sure, I have seen Aspire and its no doubt a competent car but the only problem is the build quality which unlike Ford. Pricing wise as well Aspire is more expensive, so test drive both cars in an environment you are familiar with and decide which one you want.

Its good to hear your cousin's experience. Some websites and forums (don't want to name them, you probably know whom I am referring) are spreading so much filth about tata cars that people reading them would get doubts about it. I have personally seen zest and it sure looks bloody strong. Its cheaper and except for the SYNC, MY KEY, 6 airbags and keyless entry the zest XT and aspire top end versions are comparable. I will surely give the zest a try alongwith the aspire.
@krishnavamshi24
The ford is flimsy and the door width and cost cutting in the boot lid are purely evident. This is probably the first time I am seeing this kind of build quality from a ford. As you rightly said, test driving both cars in similar environment would make sense. Will surely update my experience.
The owners or people who have used or experienced the product are the best judge in my opinion.

Plus Ford misses out on the parking sensors.
The music system is far better in Zest.
Though both of the above can be added as part of accessories.
