Honda Cars India today reported 45% increase in domestic sales in September 2014 at 15,015 units as against 10,354 units in the same month last year.

Last month, the company sold 1,152 units of small car Brio, 3,848 units of compact sedan Amaze, 5,329 units of Mobilio and 4,600 units of the mid-sized sedan City, Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL) said in a statement.

Besides, the company sold 86 units of sports utility vehicle CRV.

Only 3848 Amaze (against 9198 in August) have been sold last month. It seems the Zest effect?

Thanks dude.

The idling thing is mentioned here in page 84

"After starting, run the engine in idle speed for atleast 30 sec. Do not press accelerator pedal while starting the engine to avoid damage to the turbocharger."
some more info on page 90:
STOPPING THE ENGINE:
Before switching off the engine, run the engine in idle condition for at least 30 seconds and then switch ff. This will allow the engine oil to lubricate the turbocharger, till its speed is fully reduced and also allow the unit to cool down.

WARNING
A quick burst on the accelelerator before turning off the engine serves absolutely no practical purpose, it wastes fuel and is damaging especially to turbocharged engine. The above precautions will ensure
satisfactory life and performance from the turbocharger, till its speed is fully reduced and also allow the unit to cool down.
but my Question is- should we follow this practice every time we start or stop the car?[confused] is it means we have to waste a lot of fuel on every red light.[frustration]

30 sec after start and 30 sec before stop means do not switch off at red lights if it is not significantly more than 60 sec, like 120 or more. It seems very rare.

Heres what I do

Typically I start the engine, open the gate, put my stuff in, put on stereo, adjust AC setting and same after I pull the car in to the parking place, I shut the gate, take out my things from the car and wait till I hear the fan cut off and hear the car idling. All this to get over the impatience of waiting and doing nothing.

thats the perfect way to keep the car idle before and after the start stop of your engine.

As far as I know, Idling is only required when you start the car after a long gap of shut down period or you are switching engines off after a long drive or whole day of drive. I dont think idling is necessary at every red signal or brief stoppages made in the trip.

This 30sec routine is done usually in the morning (first) startup and the last shut down. You dont have to do it always.

And also note. Pressing the throttle when startup will send contradictory signals to the ECU and may end up damaging the vehicle in long term.

Throttle actuation during crancking is only for carburetor cars, not fuel injected cars. Fuel injection takes care of all the fueling required for the startup.
