Swan motors in Sonepat have CNG fitted in their petrol TD zest. You can take a feel of CNG in zest if you want.
They used services of Vijay motors in Sonepat to fit the CNG. I have also got CNG fitted in 2 of my cars(Beat & WagonR) from them. And they are running without any issues.
Hope it helps you.
Even I inquired at few places about fitting a cng kit in my zest. One dealer 'Maitri Enterprises' in pune informed that if the CNG kit is fitted in Zest there is no way to remove the stephney as rear seat of Zest cannot be folded.so woned how Vijay motors have tacked with this problem.

Regarding stepney, I didn't check.
But I checked the boot, the CNG cylinder was installed in between the both wheel wells. There was space between the cylinder and the boot opening. May be stepney can be placed at that space in vertical position.

BTW, I have booked zest RT XT [:)]. Will check the stepney thing when I'll visit them for its delivery.

Great also check which type of kit they are using, as revtron is Turbo Charged MPFI engine. Its really fun to drive.

Congrats is he going for petrol or diesel? I believe I read that the upgraded Zest was to be launched by mid 2016. I think they will launch it by the festive season since by then the present model will be 2 years old. The updated ICE was launched last year with the Bolt launch in Feb 2015.

Well not sure what is his inclination. I would have opted for the diesel one for sure. However the price is the constraint so i guess it willl be RT XT. Also since he is not in a hurry is it good idea to wait or just take a plunge? Will the new Zest be a car which will make him and me regret for not waiting. Storme refresh was definitely not one. Infact I am happy had Storme pre referesh one.

My guess is they will not be touching the mechanicals , because they are absolutely no issue with the them. I can vouch for them since my cousin has Zest QJD which has done 38000km and driven by different drivers. Those 38000km were like a torture test for the car where he doesn't slow down for small speed breakers. Only recently the left drive shaft is making minor noises which can be heard faintly. So the upgraded ZEST may get new bumpers, newer interior color combinations, and maybe just maybe keyless entry and power folding ORVMs. I am sure the price will go up slightly for these but i feel if you can buy today with good discounts there is no harm in going ahead.

Nice to see the zest holding tight after 38k kms of torture.
@vikyjoshi
I don't think any significant changes will be made to the car.
If you get a good bargain, buying now is a better option.

You can take quotes from all dealers and compare.

Tata Zest spotted camouflaged along with Nexon and Kite 5!

The Kite 5 and Nexon were spotted camouflaged and parked in an underground parking lot. Surprisingly, the Zest was also spotted along with them. That could mean the Zest is also being tested with the all-new 1.5-litre diesel engine under the RevoTorq brand. Maybe even with the new turbocharged petrol engine! If that is happening maybe Zest could even get a revamp ? Adding all those missing bits like storage options and increasing the overall quality !?

The revotorq engine would reduce the price of zest even further.

We cannot expect drastic changes from petrol. The engine has already been tuned to maximum by sports mode.

Until and unless they don't add an extra bore and make it 1.3 L engine, we may keep the news at bay as of now

I own a Zest RT XMS bought in August 2015. I have been facing problem of loss of power while driving and no response to throttle input several times of late. This happens mostly when I am driving in 4th or 5th gear. Have earlier taken the car to fortune cars service centre in Nerul and they could not detect any fault after testing for 50km. Apart from this, I have seen distinct drop in mileage figures when this problem occurs. On several automobile websites I have seen this problem being reported and in worst cases, fuel pumps of some cars have been damaged as well. Can Tata motors provide a solution to this issue soon? To me it is a serious issue with a new car and not happy with choosing Tata over other options. On top of it, their service stations are not able to diagnose anything.

Did you notice any lights glowing on the dashboard ?

This usually happens with two red lights glowing with oil pressure light and battery light ON.

In fact, there was once Engine Malfunction error displayed and I took the car to service centre very next day. They were unable to identify any error and told me that no error code was stored in the memory and it should have, if there was an error. It left me confused. They also took a "TEST DRIVE" in my absence for 50km and handed over the car back to me saying there is no problem. Apart from this, there was never any error sign displayed ever.
