Tata Zest XM / XMS Variants Goes Low on Power

Tata has discontined the 89BHP tune of engines in XM and XMS variants. The alloy wheels are also now only in the top XT. ABS feature is also removed from XM variant day and Night IRVM are also restricted to only top variant which was available from the XM variant

Is it revotron or quadrajet engine ?

I used sport mode and slipped the clutch to get the car moving from standstill on slope road when I stopped to pay toll at sanghi temple ghat section

Its the same with all petrol zests
Mine is Petrol, Revetron XT and no doubt TM left this Car with some basic flaws Like pick up(Car is dead in second gear on highways) , Fuel Efficiency(max 12 in city), Hand Brake, HK Voice recognition (I have to reset it every other day to get my voice recognized) and few other issues mentioned by other TAI guys.top of that Poor after sales Services from service centers.
My concern is , Issue may remain while first launch of the CAR but what happens when TM is not able to resolve these issues even after two year of launch. I guess Zest those are some reasons Zest is unable to complete in terms of sales in its segment.

How many kms has your car done till now and what is the mileage on highways you are getting? There was a software update to HK audio system post Bolt release did you get it done?

My Car is at 9K mark, Mileage on highways remains 14-15(Max) KMPL. I sent 5 times my car till now to the service center and reported HK issue annd service center seems to be unaware of any update or they do not want to do this.

Please call customer care 18002097979 and find the number of the territory service manager and tell him about the inability of the particular dealership to solve these issues. Did you give your car to Concorde for servicing they will have the territory sales manager's office there?

Zest is not a niggle free car, but I like the zest.
Coming to your issues. The HK system is a robust system built for developing markets.
These things are only known to the TML guys and not the ones in service centres.
Why ?
No proper training to servicing guys.
When a product is about to be released the service advisers are sent to their main offices for training. Zest is a complex car for their standards and hence these issues.
You can write to TML by email and call to the given number above
Regarding gear shifts, please shift gears between 1500-2000 rpm to make the best out of the TA- 65 gearbox
The key is to shift late till you build up proper revs and not overdo it
The issue I am facing is very peculiar and I faced it multiple times today afternoon in sweltering heat.
There is cut off of power or fuel I don't know what or which one it is -but I need to shift gear at that very moment or else the car stalls.
I was taking an incline and gave left indicator in advance to take left at a free left near signal which is when a red idiot innova cuts me from left and blocks my free left which is on an incline. At that very moment the power from engine got cut off, both these incidents happened simultaneously. I cooled my nerves not sure whom to slam - the driver of innova or the gear rod.
I just waited and let that idiot go and immediately downshifted to 1st gear and the engine didn't stall. I had to revv at 2000 rpm with half clutch to get the zest moving on an incline.

P.S. this happens only with a/c on.

Visited the SRT Tata showroom yesterday to show the Tiago to my parents.
The showroom was pretty deserted with only two staff members and all display cars (typical Sunday).
There was this Zest Signature edition on display with dealer-level customisation options. Looks pretty impressive!
list of customisations on the car:
1. Different Honeycomb grille.
2. Body kits and spoiler
3. Smoked headlamps
4. Cool looking alloys
5. Interior upholstery color customisation
6. Leather on door-pads
7. Custom color Painted dashboard panels.
8. Front headrests mounted LCD screens.

Wow DJ that's one good looking Zest! How was front grill fabricated looks like OE.
