Re: Tata Zest: Review | Test Drive | Pictures

Guys !
Had been to Tata's regional office in Bangalore (been invited). The TSM has given me an appointment at the dealer location. I am going to provide my feedback on the product as well as the dealer experience in the presence of all who matters. Those who have got issues with the car can send me the details so that it can be addressed. Please don't ignore this. I am in such a position with TML that my voice is not going to be unheard. So please send me all your issues so that I can consolidate it by 12th November a day prior to my meeting.
Raise concern about production and delay in waiting period. Other company cars with new releases also they are producing around 7k.

Saw a Elite i20 in office yesterday, a brand new one in blue color. It looked awesome & felt like cancelling my Zest booking & going for it especially since TML & Concorde are giving me a run around [frustration]

Elite i20 has a damn good design.
If you are only looking for a city car , you may cancel zest and go for it.
Else you have to buy Elite i20 diesel variant which is too costly.
Even the petrol isnt cheap and it is underpowered(only if you plan to drive on highways).
The sportz model's cost is almost same as Zest's XT(Petrol). And zest is more equipped feature wise and engine wise as well. Yeah -Elite i20 beats the designs of almost all the cars in that price segment + Hyundai's promising services.

Would suggest wait :-)

Hi All !

Happy to inform you that I have booked XMS REV Buzz blue today ! [:)]

so much thinking, feedbacks and all TAIgers' opinions/ownership reviews have realy helped my to reach to the decision. too much effort put in as this will be my first car !

visited multiple dealers, did very serious bargaining through multiple channels through TML contacts for about 3 weeks, but not a single freebie offered. SA and dealer say this is new car and they don't get much margin. I did not find them much enthusiastic to sale ZEST as they appear to have completed their sales target already in 3 months [sleep]. No follow up calls after TDs from any dealer.TML should warn their dealers about such attitude. As opposed to this I received repeat follow up calls from Huyndai and Honda dealership which I visited.

Keeping 'this' experience aside, I decided to go ahead and finally booked it today.I have not opted by any accessories as of now as they are very expensive at dealer. My new journey has just started [clap]

BTW , If there is no one yet from Pune to appear on TAI with Zest, consider me the FIRST one
Hi Sachin,

Congrats for booking your Zest and hope you get a real nice feedback from Tata. I am also from Pune and planning to book Zest in December first Week so that i get a 2015 manufacturing year.

You forgot about the passenger airbag Zest offers in XMS and Elite i20 has only driver airbag in Sportz version [:)]
The price difference is almost 50k more for Elite i20

Re: Tata Zest: Review | Test Drive | Pictures

Had a chat with TSM for Tata Motors, my SA handed over the phone to him. As per him, there are some production / supply issues because of which there is a delay & he expects it to be fixed by 15th of this month. He assured me that I will get my VIN details by 15th/16th.

Let's see now. Holding on to my booking for now[thinking]

Hi Chetan3,
I dont think the mileage is that poor.
I found some post in xbhp, and people are getting varying mileages, some getting 13, 16 and more.
Please check the below post there.

Can you also check with him the issue of hot air coming from the AC vents when the inner circulation mode is turned off?

I came across of some user comments about mud in engine compartment, and headlights getting filled with mud. Please raise this issue with TSM. Thanks

Re: Tata Zest: Review | Test Drive | Pictures

Guyz, I received a SMS from TML with the below message.
"Congratulations for booking Tata Zest at Concorde Motors. Contact 08147097970 for delivery details"

Two problems with this.
1. It's been over 4 weeks since I booked the car and why am I getting this message just now?
2. The number given doesnt work, it says "Please check the number you have dialed". What a way to irritate a customer who is already impatient about delivery.[angry][frustration]

Did any of you receive a similar message?

Re: Tata Zest: Review | Test Drive | Pictures

It has been a month since I had booked my car in Delhi and on 3 occasions I contacted my SA about delivery status, but he was very evasive. So, a day before yesterday I dialed TATA Motors customer care number and registered my complaint that I have no confirmation of my delivery date for which they gave me complaint number also and promised that action will be taken within 48 hours .

Surprise Surprise, today morning both my SA and dealership manager talked to me and apologized for delay in answering my query and promised that vehicle is most probably in transit and will be delivered this week or max by next week and manager has told me that he will personally monitor my delivery status.

So I suggest you guys also contact Customer Care and register your complaint and don't forget to take complaint number also.

Sahin,

I visited National Autowheels Hadapsar and I had a nice experience with Tata showroom , sales representative was very cooperative though had less technical knowledge.
The test car was not available for sometime when I reached for test drive but I utilized this time in checking each and every detail of the car standing on their display and like most of the people in this forum, couldn't stop myself by praising this beautiful car.
After the test drive of Zest XT RT my perception changed completely about TATA cars, engine was buttery smooth , interiors best in this class, music system, space, seat comfort best in class and many others, what people have already explained.

Only one thing which still bother me is FE, I was expecting it to be on a higher side then the competition accompanied with a Turbocharged engine, still monitoring the owner reviews if it starts showing somewhat better, 14/15 in city would be acceptable for me.
BTW from which dealer you booked the car and did you discuss about the “Mud entering in engine bay” issue with the dealer while booking and what was the feedback, as that’s another reason for making a delayed decision for me.
