Is dealer accepts other insurance vendors or we have to take from him only ?

Can you share your experience with KHT motors and your initial report on the vehicle .

Hi Guys,

Today i took Zest XT QJD from KHT motors. The KHT motors SA are very cooperative. I am very impressed with their approach. I am very much satisfied with the car, its very smooth, no engine noice inside the cabin. Since i am new to driving i am not much aware of other problems/goods. I will update later complete my experience. KHT motors allowing outside insurance and they also gives discount, i got 5k discount for from them(they have tie up with Future General insurance).

Happy Diwali[:)]
As You didn't specify which fuel it runs on, I was confused[;)]
Yes, in second and third I too felt the gear vibrations while accelerating. More on 3rd gear I guess.
I think that's of not much worry.
Every zest is having it. So hopefully its doesn't harm anything.

Regarding FE, ill suggest to reset the 'B' trip meter and check again.
Try driving on highways and see the reading.
In highways, at least you should get 16.
Run for few kms and see.
Yeah, i will surely update on the FE after the reset.
Have you tried to play video in the infotainment system ?
My SA made false claims that it will play when handbrake pulled, but after trying when i asked him about his claim, then he stated that the update will surely contain it, Is it even possible?

Corona Ring on the Zest headlight look super cool !!
Its seems the no of Zest is increasing everyday on TAI page. TATA motors hit the indian market mostly right way except the delaying the AMT version delivery.

Congrats Shivalaya and Ravi Nalla.
Wish you more and more miles in your Zests without slightest of problems.[clap]

I believe many of you are first time Tata users and that reveals some picture. "Perception is changing"[:D]

Any idea to prevent them without the cover ?
Ive read your ownership review, and its superb. Most of the things I can relate to as I too have gone through similar stages.
I too park it under a tree and face same issues. I've a car cover of my old dezire, which I'm planning to cut at right places and make a it a protective sheild for zest tied onto the branches[glasses].
I will post pictures if it works[;)].

I've tried and it doesnt work.
You cant fully blame your SA because i guess that feature was available with Manza and he expected the same in Zest.
From many sources I had read and watched, they claim that the system will be upgraded to support more features in future.
The one I'm badly expecting is the navigation system.
Lets wait for some more time till Bolt is launched and I believe we will also have some good news with it[:D].

Congratulations Harish83 and Ravi Nalla for your new cars. Wish you a trouble free ownership experience. I test drove the diesel Zest once. From the inside, the car felt like a petrol one to me. I was really impressed with the smoothness, NVH and pickup of the car. However, I found the petrol Zest is much pleasure to drive, specially in the Sport mode (my personal opinion though). Hi Guys,

i faced a different issue(may not be a issue) on my new Zest. In traffic sudden release of clutch engine offed. When i try to start engine its not started. then i removed the key and tried then it is started. Is this behavior is normal(or specific to tata cars)? i am very new driving, please provide info if any body knows about it.

This is Normal in German cars like VW, we need to Turn Off the Ignition and need to crank it again, then only the car will crank.

But in my 2012 Vista VX, we can crank it again without completely Turn Off the Ignition.

Update on Mud In Engine Bay issue.
Things are getting worse and I was forced to try a fix myself.
After lot of research and analysis I finalized on some flexible plastic material which after fixing will extend the rim of the wheel well opening for the suspension.

I had bad luck with glue as I got only superglue and no other good brands in the store i checked.
Cleaned the wheel wells thoroughly and took help from my wife to clean the engine bay where mud was there.(Highlighted the advantage of small hands and made her believe only she can do it [;)])
At the end of cleaning process, one old tooth brush fell inside the engine bay and I couldnt get it back still.Luckily, it doesn't make any noice while running.
Glued the plastic sheet exactly where i wanted. Applied old stock fevicol on top which was left for years at home(turned out to be mistake later[cry])

After the job was done, everything looked perfect and I was sure it is going to work.
Didn't take car out of one day. The next was the judgement day as I was driving from Kerala to Bangalore and it was raining heavily in Mysore-Bangalore stretch.
After the end of trip when i checked, fix on one side was lost. (I doubt the 140 kmph on nice road towards the end of the journey).
when I opened engine bay, I was happy that my fix actually worked.
There was absolutely no mud after running in Rain for around 2 hours.
I'm sure I have lost one plastic flap towards the end of the journey as that side engine bay was also super clean.
Next step is getting the fix done more professionally, and I will get it done when I have a free weekend.
The challenge is sticking the flap without screws.
and getting hands close to the area where I have to apply glue

Anyways, I'm sure I'll be able to fix it after some brainstorming[cheers].

Harish, Good to see this and you have a solution before TML.
