Re: Tata Zest XM (Revotron) Ownership Review

Dear All,
Thank you so much for starting discussion on Zest which helped a lot in deciding between Zest and Dezire [:D].
Finally after reading comments on TAI and team-bhp about Zest, I booked Zest XM (white) Revotron as XMS had long waiting time[anger]. But I am OK with XM too.
Booking date was 26th Sept and I got it on 10th Oct.
Booking experience:
I booked and they promise me to deliver on 8th Oct. However, when I inquired on 7th about the delivery they told that they many staffs have not joined due to Durga Puja
vacation so you have to come tomorrow for delivery. I said OK.
On the next day (8th Oct), I called again to my SA about the same. He informed that my car is in the yard and I can get it by 5 pm or so. I was happy.
On the delivery date (9th Oct), I called him again in the morning to confirm. He told
that car is still in the yard but they are trying to get it to the showroom by after
noon and confirm the delivery.
When I reached to the showroom, I realized that the car has not reached and it is still in the yard only. The SA was not in a position to talk to me so I straight way guided me to MD of the showroom. The MD explained me that there was some communication gap and it is not possible to deliver you the vehicle today.
My home was around 15 km away from the showroom and the location of the showroom is also outside of the city. The MD realized it and he gave me a brand new Zest XT and told me that I can take it to my home and tomorrow the SA will call me once my car is ready so I can come back and exchange it.
I had no problem. I took the delivery of other zest (in fact top model). Next day I got call from SA that my car is ready. I reached there around 4 pm and I got delivery at around 7 pm.
I demanded some freebies but they told that it is not possible to give anything free. But I got some gifts (lather wallet, key chain, a coffee cup of Zest, A photo of my family with my new car in a photo frame and cadbury celebration pack for my son).
They show me some accessories like seat covers, pillows, and other utilities. I selected only seat cover (Rs. 7500) as it is genuine. Rest of the things I can buy from outside at much cheaper rate. IMG_20141010_164624.jpg

I drove it to my home. I did not find anything unusual as reported my some owners here. I will keep you updated with my experience here.

Thank you anshuman8, don.lohith, Atindra, slashinv, jagrover et al. for your appreciations.

I also want to share one more information about insurance of car. There are many here who are taking insurance from outside to save something. I also talked to my SA about the same. He told me that if I take insurance from the dealer, I will get cashless transaction.
If something serious happens to our car, the car will be brought to the authorized service station and they do cost estimation. A little part we have to pay and the rest will be recovered from the insurance company.
Now here is the advantage of cashless transaction:
In this case, we pay our part and take our car from the TATA service centre. TATA will take care of the remaining payment from the insurance company.
If I take insurance from outside where TATA has no direct connection with them, TATA will not release the car till they get full payment from the outside insurance company.
Many insurance company delay the payment in documentation and others.

I believe in the SA and took insurance from the dealers only.

Yes what the SA said is true, cash less is hassle free, while if you take insurance from outside you have to do all running for claims.

Re: Tata Zest XM (Revotron) Ownership Review

Hi

How much waiting period for Petrol xms ? I was told atleast 6 weeks in Pune
It is more than 8 weeks in Kharagpur (WB). If you have specific color demand, then it is even more. Till now 5 Zest have been released from this dealer and a none of them is xms but only XM and XT.

Re: Tata Zest XM (Revotron) Ownership Review

Tata had planned it real bad!! Otherwise XMS should not have that long waiting period because XMS is the real VFM among their all the models and they could be termed fool if they failed to gauge that more bookings they will get for XMS. Waiting period in XT can be understandable as its the top model, Tata might have thought people opting it less over the other but 6-8 weeks waiting for XMS is bad strategy on part of Tata.
