Re: Tata Zest XM (Revotron) Ownership Review

I felt very happy with their SA's response. i did not find any difference in response and information sharing between Maruti dealer(bimal) and KHT Motors. Every body saying tata deelers are not up to the market, but i did not agree after seeing KHT motors. I don't know about future response, sales response is good now. They got huge bookings for Zest. I saw so many zests in their stockyard. when i enquired about them they are allocated to pre booked customers.

Nice.
Awaiting your response on ownership.
By the way do not forget to post few pics when you take the car tomorrow[glasses]
Best of luck.

I also checked in all variants, but i did find just normal sun visor.
I have already raised this issue with the TATA motors. Hopefully they will get back to me with some answers. By the way Ravi, have you already booked your ZEST??
My SA has not given me any delivery date confirmation as of yet.[confused]

one of my Dad friend Using 1st gen Vista(2009 model I guess). Still it is running fine. though he faced some minor issues, it was rectified and the car is still running strong.
From pawan's post earlier in this thread. Please don't worry about that. Its not at all an issue.
I agree, some had very bad experience with TATA products and service but again, things have improved and people change..
So, buy a car which you like, love it and you will have great time[:D]
so seems like TATA is doing a good job and gradually the quality and standards are being improved. Kudos [glasses] Hope tata has taken this to next level with the zest which we will be able to know once we have ownership reviews at around 3000-4000 KMs.
PS High expectations from this car

Re: Tata Zest XM (Revotron) Ownership Review

I would like to hear from the owners of the Zest XT. Does the front passenger seat sun visor and the vanity mirror look like this?? This picture is sourced from one of the automotive blogs while they did the review of the car.
You can notice that the visor shown in the picture has got a nice upmarket feel to it. However, when i checked all the car variants at my dealer's showroom has got ordinary looking sun visors and the mirror which does not have a cover lid.
Can anyone share the picture of what you have got in your Zest XT?? I am waiting to get my hands on my XT petrol (Sky Grey) in a week's time.
This is how the vanity mirror looks like. Have a look at the pictures shared by Harish , though its a Diesel variant but pictures are same.

I don't think if we can have a fix for that. Those were the media drive cars and Tata has the right to change those IMO[:)]
Well ... even I share the same opinion. However, i thought of giving it a try to bring this issue to Tata Motor's notice. I am really not expecting them to customize my car to accommodate the sun visor of my choice. But if they come out with something special, I would be really delighted. Let's hope that they don't let us (customers) down.[angel]

Just being a little curious, as per few sources on the internet, there is mapmyindia navigation and location based services built in to the Harman/Kardon connectnecxt infotainment system. following are the links to the sources.

TATA Motors Media Centre

Tata Zest Compact Sedan Launched; Prices Here

Can any of the current owners of ZEST XT (petrol or diesel) confirm the same?? Its going to be absolutely amazing if this feature exists in the car .... can't wait to show it off to my colleagues and boss [clap]

Re: Tata Zest XM (Revotron) Ownership Review

Congratulations for your new Zest XM and best wishes for a long and trouble free ownership experience. Please share your fuel efficiency figures at the present condition.

I also look to buy the XMS, petrol. I test drove the car twice. First one for only 1 or 2 kms. However, yesterday, I drove the car for 15 kms within the Kolkata city. The test drive car was 1900 kms driven XT Revetron. Since, the good about the car is very much known to everyone now, I discussed them later. The problems first.

The problems:

1) I engaged first gear, released the clutch and pressed the gas pedal. Immediately there was a noise. Like krrrrr..... It was audible in 2nd gear also. However, from 3rd gear onwards, I didn't felt that.

2) A noise was there, like puling a string, while rotating the steering wheel from neutral position.

3) I felt road undulations mildly in the gear lever.

The TD car driver acknowledged all these problems. I talked to the sales representative and to the sales manager also. All told me that these problems are specific to the car and needs service. They told me that the car was busy in test drives and they have no time to service it. I was surprised as the first service is scheduled at either 3000 kms or three months whichever is early. These problems seems so early to occur. Have anyone found these problems during TD or ownership of Zest? Are these problems general for Zest or are specific to that car? Should I be worried and postpone my booking? I seek help. It will also be helpful if anyone from Kolkata or Howrah can refer me a good Tata dealer and service center.

Now, the good points are,

1) The drive is as smooth as silk. Linear pick up and specially, when the Sport mode is on, the car becomes very fast and the driver can easily overtake the slow moving buses and taxis in Kolkata. However, it affects the FE. The suspension system of the car rocks. The road undulations were not felt at all.

2) The steering is very nice to hold and smooth to operate. Neither its very light nor is very hard. It just gives you the optimum feel to confidently maneuver the car in a congested city like Kolkata (in Sport mode also).

3) The brakes are really good. I did not applied sudden brakes, just normal brake operations, and it was sufficiently good. The car can stop from any speed without any drama.

4) The seats are very comfortable and the car has space. I am 6 feet tall and I found that I can seat comfortably at the back of the driver seat setting the driver seat as per my comfortable standers. The music system is also very good.

5) The car is very attractive from both interior and exterior.

6) The car gave 10.43 kmpl. (full tank to full tank using auto lock). I think this is decent considering 100% use AC and congested APC road, Kolkata. I never switched of the car. The mileage may improve after first or second service.
