Thank you anshuman8, don.lohith, Atindra, slashinv, jagrover et al. for your appreciations.

I also want to share one more information about insurance of car. There are many here who are taking insurance from outside to save something. I also talked to my SA about the same. He told me that if I take insurance from the dealer, I will get cashless transaction.
If something serious happens to our car, the car will be brought to the authorized service station and they do cost estimation. A little part we have to pay and the rest will be recovered from the insurance company.
Now here is the advantage of cashless transaction:
In this case, we pay our part and take our car from the TATA service centre. TATA will take care of the remaining payment from the insurance company.
If I take insurance from outside where TATA has no direct connection with them, TATA will not release the car till they get full payment from the outside insurance company.
Many insurance company delay the payment in documentation and others.

I believe in the SA and took insurance from the dealers only.
how much they charge you for this insurance. is it zero dep.? my dealer told me about 19500 for zero dep.

First of all sir Congratulations on buying the ZEST.
i am planning to buy soon but waiting to read for some ownership experiences. can you throw a light on some basic stuff

1. Are you facing any heating issue even after driving for a short distance (10-20 KM) like some owners are

2. How do you expect the AC to perform on a hot summer day in bumper to bumper traffic ?

3. considering the fact that zest is a TATA product and i found many people criticising and doubting its durability and lifespan. what are your initial view regarding these issues

4. Found a thread where an owner mentioned problem of mud entering into the engine bay , did you encounter any similar problem ? [surprise]

As a TATA car owner, I can answer to your above question[;)]

People used to say NO to TATA cars after hearing the word TATA. 95% of those people, never used TATA cars and they are ready to comment without having any experience[lol]

I'm using TATA VISTA VX from 2012 and covered 62,500Kms+ in 2.6Yrs. Till today, I never faced any issues with the car. The car is running well and Good. I have driven my Vista in Ghats, Midnights, early morning, heavy rain, Hot sun and Freezing chill climate, but never faced any issue.

thanks a lot Vinoth (AppU) [:D]
so all those allegations; Body Rusting, Consider discarding tata cars after 4-5 years (in my case still using 8 years old alto which runs like a charm) , poor user experiences with the cars , aren't really true ? [:)]

My previous car was Black color Indica DLS, It was 2004 model, I brought it and used from 2006-2012 and sold to my dad's friend. He is still using that car.

And I agree, old gen TATA cars had some mechanical problems/Niggles. But, from Aria, Vista, Manza, Strome they are improved in all aspects. I can my current Vista is 100 times better than my previous Black Indica DLS in all aspects(Breaks, Handling, quality, etc.,)But still some improvement needs in TATA cars.

one of my Dad friend Using 1st gen Vista(2009 model I guess). Still it is running fine. though he faced some minor issues, it was rectified and the car is still running strong.

car doesn't get heated more than 50% in all journey even the temp shows me sometime lower hot than earlier one during the running of car.
From pawan's post earlier in this thread. Please don't worry about that. Its not at all an issue.

Let me tell you one fact, you can never depend fully on any mechanical or electronics item, let it a car or mobile or even plane..... and we humans never ever created which is 100% fool proof, saying that, i am not saying TATA are best car to drive but neither would I say, any other car too. Its how well you take care of your beauty. Sometime you might experience some issue but those all are part of owning a car.
I agree, some had very bad experience with TATA products and service but again, things have improved and people change..
So, buy a car which you like, love it and you will have great time[:D]

Re: Tata Zest XM (Revotron) Ownership Review

I have paid 22380 for zero dep. It is from United India Insurance.[frustration]
Hi swades - I have booked the XT Petrol and am waiting for the delivery. I did quite a bit of research on the insurance piece myself. The dealer quoted 22970 for the XT version for a normal insurance package (without even adding zero dep). However when i checked online quotes from several other companies, I got to know that the most competitive premium rate is being provided by Royal Sundaram (18,000 approx) for zero dep insurance.
However I am going with my dealer as they were insisting me to take up the insurance from their dealership otherwise they will lose out on the incentive. But after so much of coercion on my part they gave me a zero Dep policy @ 22K change.

I would like to hear from the owners of the Zest XT. Does the front passenger seat sun visor and the vanity mirror look like this?? This picture is sourced from one of the automotive blogs while they did the review of the car.
You can notice that the visor shown in the picture has got a nice upmarket feel to it. However, when i checked all the car variants at my dealer's showroom has got ordinary looking sun visors and the mirror which does not have a cover lid.
Can anyone share the picture of what you have got in your Zest XT?? I am waiting to get my hands on my XT petrol (Sky Grey) in a week's time.

Dear wincythomas,
It is a good decision to go with the dealer as it will be really helpful in processing the claim if something happens to our car.

Great Ravi!

Do post your experience with KHT.
I am about to place Zest with them.[clap]
I felt very happy with their SA's response. i did not find any difference in response and information sharing between Maruti dealer(bimal) and KHT Motors. Every body saying tata deelers are not up to the market, but i did not agree after seeing KHT motors. I don't know about future response, sales response is good now. They got huge bookings for Zest. I saw so many zests in their stockyard. when i enquired about them they are allocated to pre booked customers.
