Re: Tata Zest XM (Revotron) Ownership Review

A nice info related to idling of TC Revotron of Zest in TBHP forum, check post #993.
If that's true it will be marvellous. Good to see that TML have buckled up and ready for the competition. These are the features which will keep them on a global map.

Yeah that's great use of ECU. There could be some hidden nice features in Zest ( my wishful thinking[:D] )

First of all congratulations for your new car it does look amazing. The fuel economy will go up after the first service is completed. Have experienced this on a friends Linea tjet. So no need to worry.

May be they are not sure about the performance of this feature[;)], or they don't want us to take chances, after all TC is very important for our car.
When Tata engineers are not sure about this feature, we should not take chances by not following idling process.

Re: Tata Zest XM (Revotron) Ownership Review

hello guys, back from 600 km long journey yesterday on NH89
some my personal views for the car after this journey.
NH 89 street is not as good as a perfect highway as construction is going on.
handling is good,
high ground clearance is really good and help to handle the road bumps and jumps easily.
ride quality is smooth and performance is perfect.
comfort of driving during the journey was an average for me.
back seat is comfortable for long journeys.
average around 13-14 KMPL for whole journey all time with ac on speed touched 110-120 sometime not more than that.
Mode specification
ECO mode perfect only when you are at all clear road and no need to dance with the gears, as the pick up in ECO mode is really lag power and ac also become weaker here, ride also feels little bit hazy and noisy.

City Mode(Default one) best mode to drive this car as all things work in balance mode.

Sports Mode can say a Risky Mode, as car really feels like a punch, power is really measurable, drive your car at a constant speed of 60-80 and push the sports mode will lead you to 80-100 at same acceleration.

car doesn't get heated more than 50% in all journey even the temp shows me sometime lower hot than earlier one during the running of car.

suspensions are good enough to handle the bumps and jumps.

from my personal opinion lighting need some improvement, as it is not as per my expectation as compare to other cars (Safari storm Projector, swift bulb).

overall ride was little bit hazy and tired as NH was not well maintained and work was in process and the car ride quality is at par no issues had been noticed.

yeah bro, but back from the ride,
yes the issue of mud in engine bay is not yet solved and no information from the tata is given over that.

Nice summary, and addendum to your ownership review. Car seems fine on both city and highway conditions. I hope Tata works on minor issues asap.

Thank you very much!!!

That's great Pawanvijay [clap]

So engine overheating is not at all a problem. Beware Zest critics [glasses]

Ride: good
Handling: good

FE: Is it combined FE in city driving as well ? 13-14 seems low or you drove it in sports mode all the time ?

Re: Tata Zest XM (Revotron) Ownership Review

13-14 is a good mileage for a petrol car in highway driving conditions. Petrols are more efficient in city than highway.

Recently I drove a Honda City at highway at about 100 kmh. When I looked at the MID i was shocked to see the reading 10 kmpl. I was expecting a low FE but not that low. For good FE in petrol cars in highway, drive at 60-70 kmph range.

Re: Tata Zest XM (Revotron) Ownership Review

As per Highway FE, 13-14 seems to be low but he has mentioned its not a free traffic. Presume on proper highways at speeds of 80 - 100 kmph you can extract easily 16-17 kmpl.

Also has the car completed run in period ?
