What's the mileage figures for individual modes ? ( Assuming you observed the mileage figures by driving in particular mode for certain kms )

As he pointed out the Engine overheating, why is it considered to be normal when other cars doesn't have ? Is it because of turbocharge ? What happens if we drive for highway trips of more number of kms ?

Hi Vaibhav,

Any idea what is provided as part of this accessory ? Is it chrome, rubber and is it for the edge of the doors or for the protection of a ding from next car in the parking lot ?
Did you check if it goes with the car colour ?

From the initial ownership reviews on the net,it would seem TML have not rally reached the next horizon in sales and after sales service uniform;y across the country
Perhaps its a matter of time
Given how important the Zest is to their brand image and sales, i would have wished they are more careful-some reviews of ABS not working etc suggest they have not reached the reliability levels with respect to the new tech.
?Wait for some time and then decide to buy?
11kmpl on average seems a bit low?

ABS issue shows poor QC if the problem is prevalent, however not many such reports on the net yet. On the other hand TAI's test drive forum one member has posted above 18 Kmpl mileage for ECO mode with AC and 16 Kmpl with sports mode. I think after couple of services only the real mileage can be assessed.

Its not overheating if the temperature gauge needle is at middle (or temperature bars at middle) over heating is if the needle goes all the way down to "H" ( in temperature bars at the extreme right) nothing to worry if the needle is at mid when driving. I guess under ideal driving conditions needle will be at middle. Next time when you do a cold start keep an eye on the behavior of your temperature gauge

Also, it's been reported that there are some gear vibration issues in petrol variants too. Also about certain QC issues.

I am more interested in the ZEST but keeping my fingers crossed as reliability and ASS are my biggest concerns. Though they give Gold AMC and just because I have one, I cannot go frequently to the service. I am looking for a hassle free experience and as of now TATA is very positive about ZEST but still there is always some concern in my mind with regard to new Engine, long term reliability and ASS which prevents me from booking the ZEST

Congrats Pawan on your new car. Zest is an amazing car. Handles well, comfortable. I have Indigo Tdi 88000kms 2005 model. She still feels like she is just 3-4 years old. Zest will serve you very well in terms of comfort, driving. wish you a happy zesty life in your Zest.

Over heating could be due to turbocharger. I was reading few articles on Turbo charger mechanism and the care should be taken while using cars with turbo charger. There they clearly mention excess amount of heat generated with turbo chargers and that should be cooled by either oil cooled or water cooled cooling systems. Tata claims to use superior water cooled cooling system, however its performance efficiency needs to be checked.

Was busy at work, but noticed so many small issues with the car not in the engine and ride quality but with the exterior and interior parts.
And guess what turn stering to full or more than half now press the horn and it is silent no sound is there
Remote boot opening
Remote Fuel lid opening both are failed to work.
Mud is coming from the front wheel into the engine compartment and headlights are getting filled with that mud badly.

The fuel lid/boot lid problem is reported for the first time I guess. So particular for your car.

The dust/mud issue is due to small opening in the front wheel cover. Hope TML comes with some arrangement for this.
Mud entering into the headlight compartment or into the engine bay..??
