Err... I have the habit of glancing the meters once in a few minutes to take a break from continuous road vision.
Not only in UAE , but in Bangalore also, all Mega, Meru , Ola cabs which are fitted with GPS will sound warning and announcement if they exceed 80 kmph, you can observe when going to KIAL airport.
True. I don't think anybody doing over 155 will be looking in the console to see the speed limit icon glow. Atleast I don't.
In UAE where the roads were broad and free of potholes, the taxis had the speed limit warning in the form of chimes that get activated once they cross 120 KMPH. The frequency of the chimes increase thereafter proportionally to the increase in speed.
I think we should have a audio warning for more than 100 kmph, (which is 20 kmph more than the legal speed limits here), to make it safe to a certain extend.
