Guys I recieved a call from TATA dealer today. He quoted Rs. 2.5 lakhs for my Wagon R [which is ridiculously low IMO] and Rs. 6.6 lakhs for Tigor. I said that this deal is not happening as per these prices. Told him to call me only if he can match my rates [Rs. 3.75 lakhs for Wagon R and Rs. 6.5 lakhs for Tigor].

I knew this would happen. I told you earlier of this tactics. Frankly, they quoted way low price. This price of Wagon R might be possible if it had been an accidental car but I hope it is not the case with you. Suggest you to individually sell your car and then buy the Tigor from any other TATA dealer at your place buddy. Do not get involved with this dealer and try to sell your car without involving a middle man. When I sold my Esteem few months back, there were many offers (on commission basis) but I opted to deal directly with the buyer and the car got sold in 2 days. The low evaluation is a feature of every car dealer in used car business be it Maruti True Value or Tata Motors Dealers. Most of the times they try to under-quote the seller and plan to earn maximum profit from new buyer.

Yes Akash I will try to sell individually. WagonR is not involved in any accident.

Disappointed as I thought Tigor XZ[O] was a sweet deal @ even 6.6 lakhs.

Then you can surely get a good resales value for this. MSIL cars do have good re-sale and they are friendly to after market CNG kits too so you can easily find buyers for your car buddy.

Negotiate for 5-10K more if possible. Who knows you might get a sweeter deal bro[:)]

Maurti dealer here offered to give me an exchange bonus even if I sell my zen outside, Hyundai dealer also offered the same, Well that car has not much value left (16yr old), But I get offers ranging from 50-60k outside the exchange, Hyundai dealer offer is that much 55k, Ford guys however valued it at Rs. 25k, Also they will give exchange bonus of 15k only if I sell that to them lol. Tata does not even contact me with a TD of either Tiago XZA or Nexon diesel. Well I'am having second thoughts now. Thought TATA of Figo aspire will be a good change after all these years with various Marutis. BUT.... well looks like Baleno is a well balanced diesel option than Nexon, after all it is all-in-one package with alpha and with a delta or zeta they offer to fit a touch and connect SWR switches. They have jvc-kenwood and pioneer systems in stock at their dealership.

Yes something is seriously wrong with TATA dealers. They seem to be least interested in selling their products. Till date they have not done formal evaluation of my Wagon R due to N number of reasons. One day their evaluator was busy, another day he was on leave and so on. When I asked the sales personnel that when should I bring the car for evaluation, he said just send photos of car on Whatsapp. Then based on photo evaluation of my car, he quoted Rs. 2.5 lakhs for Sep 15 Wagon R VXi.[frustration]

Hyundai personnel has been regularly following up for Xcent SX Petrol and saying that he will help in selling Wagon R outside. No such enthusiasm from TATA dealer.

That is really bad on part of the dealer! Is there any other dealer of TML in your city? Suggest you to raise a formal complaint against the dealer by Twitter addressing to the top management of TML. These dealers are ruining the TML brand big time.

The thing is I liked most reviews especially the ones on Tigor(this thread ) and another Gentleman with his Tiago XZA, We do have an old Indigo (ecs) with my uncle, Not much trouble except for the fan belt and pulleys making the noise once an year regularly. So all in all thought it would be a good try to get one of those, Even considered the Nexon, But...
Well is TML is not interested even in selling stuff, What would happen after sale?. Same with Ford, Maruti and Hyundai seem to follow up on their customers well. Say about service, I'am out of state for a few days, Maruti ASS (where I get my zen serviced for all these years,) sent me a message saying there is a service offer for Rs. 1000 only till NOv-15, I did not reply because I wont be back till 18th, Today morning the lady from mass calls me over phone and asks if I got the sms. I said I wont be there in the time. She books a service for 19th and informs they are open on Sundays since they now have started 24x7x365 assistance, Says I need to pay only 1k and also they will collect the car from my home at 8-30AM (They usually do). Well maybe Maruti has a point....[clap]

I have believed that TML in terms of products are doing really very good. In terms of pricing their products they are doing reasonably well too and the only point that has to be taken care of is the Dealer operations and the increase in TML's involvement with regards to the after sales operations and customer satisfaction. They have begun to improve but there is a long way ahead of them. Comparing the after sales of TML about 10-15 years ago and that of today there is a visible change still to reach to the epitome in after sales, the Dealers of TML should be made to realize that they are equally responsible for a brand's success. They should realize TML has come a long way in terms of technology and product profile and accordingly the dealers need to adopt to the change. Dealers cannot isolate themselves from the guidelines of the brand and neither can they handle the customers as per the free will. Top management of TML should conduct periodic feedback camps for their customers and provide their dealer network with needful assistance with regards to customer handling. I feel, many of the dealer workforce at TML aren't groomed properly and hence the complaints often arise. The Dealers are the single point of contact for the customer 99% of time so accordingly the dealers need to work to raise the bar and enhance the brand's reach & respect.

Friends,

I very rarely drive my car and driving at night/late evenings is even more rare. Just went to a local market and while reversing, I noted that the rear parking camera in darkness as well gives decent visibility.

In other news, a teenage biker at Gurgaon Cyber City crossing did the inauguration of my Tigor by giving a scratch on the front left side of the bumper. The biker came from extreme left and crossed towards right without any signal. The foot-peg of the bike scratched the bumper. So, 1 battle wound received.

Very correctly suggested by @Akash, sell your Wagon R outside.

Ok, try this, last year when I bought Nano XTA, I was offered 15k for my M800, I said 30K, or I buy Nano from another dealer, they came back after 2 days, they offered 15k discount on Nano, and took a copy of M800 RC, deal done, I sold the 800 outside for 24k.

Man, that was awesome!!!!!
Completed first long highway drive ~610Km it was flippin awesome.I just can't describe it.
It was sheer fun ,I'm out of words.
Completely in love with tigor.
The drive has the worst roads you can find(30Km stretch near Basara, Telangana) and the best roads you can NH44 (Near Armoor, Telangana ) .
Out of 610 Kms, more than 400Kms were pretty good roads cruising between 80-100Kmph with occasional dips to 60kmph ,pretty good at least according to Indian road standards.
~50Km was super awesome cruised at 90-140 mostly at 110-120(NH44).
150Km <60kmph mostly 40-50kmph some even at <30kmph.
Avg Fuel efficiency as per MID w/ city mode +100% ac : 19.2Kmpl
3 Adults + a 12-year-old with a fully loaded boot.
Didn't care to calculate via tankful method.
Tigor is criticized for it's poor engine, but I find NVH level very good and suspension is a the best in the segment.Obviously it's not for revv-hard petrol heads who love to get pushed into the seat, but for someone who needs a great looking car the effortlessly takes you to places. It had no trouble maintaining 140Kmph ,yes it probably took a couple of seconds more to reach there than the competition which I honestly didnt notice nor did I care.High speed overtaking was a breeze.
I didn't actually care about the huge boot space but my first long trip with family made me realize it was a very important.
I'm left with 39gigs of photos&video(Thanks 4K) and plenty of smiles

I recently purchased Tata Tigor XZ Pertrol. Here are my few points.

Other cars considered: Dzire: Did not go for it because of its ultra light weight body (~830 KG).
Baleno: Same reason

Why Tigor?: I was looking for a heavy build car with safety features. I was looking for particularly 3 cyl engine as 3 cylinder engines are better at mileage than the VVT engines for the same displacement.

Variant: I settled in for XZ as I thought paying ~ 35K for reverse parking camera, 2 extra speakers, laggy touch screen is not worth.

Dealership experience: Average. Prerana, Lalbagh road bangalore. Only promise the team kept on was the delivery date.

KM driven : 1150 KM.

Positives:
1. Heavy build (~1130 KG)
2. Inviting interiors
3. Powerful AC
4. Good infotainment system
5. Great looking alloys
6. Ample leg room
7. Class leading boot space
8. Great Looking projector and rear LED lamps
9. ABS, EBD, 2 airbags, pre-tensioners and load limiters.

Negatives:
1. I felt tank capacity is less (35L)
2. Third row seat is a little uncomfortable for 3 adults in long rides. For city, its just fine.
3. Since I bought, 3 times the music system went dead for no reason. Had to disconnect the battery to fix. Expecting to get it rectified in the service.

Other minor observations:
1. Turn indicator auto off: When I switch on indicator, and even a slight turn on the opposite side results the indicators in turning off. I did not experience this is other cars.
2. NVH levels are satisfactory. One cannot expect 3 cyl engine to run as smooth as 4 cyl one. But still, I feel in tigor, NVH levels are nothing to complain about. Better to test drive to get a feel of it as the observations are subjective.
3. There is an error of 2kmpl between the mileage shown on the MID and actual tank to tank mileage.

In XZO Auto AC is also there which is not present in XZ.

Bud, 3rd row is not there in Tigor[lol]. TML is still not thinking of Tigor based station wagon or 7 seater!

Other minor observations:
1. Turn indicator auto off: When I switch on indicator, and even a slight turn on the opposite side results the indicators in turning off. I did not experience this is other cars.
I find the left side indicator has a faster cut-off time.

3. There is an error of 2kmpl between the mileage shown on the MID and actual tank to tank mileage.
Is it +2 or -2 error?
