Very well said !!! Even i think the same, Tata by holding its cards will just loose potential customers once Dzire comes with AMT , cause many people like us are waiting for a good affordable sedan with AMT. Today's traffic condition makes it necessary to have AMT. Atleast they should give info of the timeline when they are planning to launch. That way people can decide whether to wait or not ..
I think with same engines Tigor AMT will be a good performer. Tata should do something to increase power before AMT introduction

Hi All,
Can any Tigor Owner comment about the mileage they are getting.
I test drove Tigor last weekend and for the whole 6 to 7 km test drive , mileage shown on the MID was 8kmpl.
Would be great to know what is the actual mileage of the car from tankful to empty.

Thanks & Regards,
Nikhil

Yes i am driving tigor XZO petrol from last one month.
ODO is just 400 kms, didn't drive this beauty much as had to visit hometown.

I think mileage might match with Maruti suzuki.
My tigor mileage is increasing day by day, Latest MID mileage is 16.4 with AC in city mode.

I booked mine on March 20th. Still no response.
Try to go for DZire if your budget allows. Its a great car with a better engine, good after sales service and also most fuel efficient (but with this you loose the metal sheet weight).
Just wait for the prices and then go with whichever car suits your needs.

Aprrox 1 lakh would be the price difference and the kind of ride quality you will get from Tigor is no match along with better build quality, looks(style back) and harmon system. I would say just wait till the prices are out and then think however I would still suggest you to go with Tigor if you are opting for XT or XZ or XZO variant.

I agree with much of what you have said but not with 1 lakh difference.IMO in tigor XZ and XZO make the most sense ;with features on offer.Whereas in case of dzire vxi and zxi will be the variant to go,so your point of 1lakh difference is moot.Don't compare variant to variant because dzire has all the features required in VXI and ZXI.Dzire is a higher segment car.

P.S I don't think ZXI+ variant would be worth , if it is priced significantly more than ZXI ,instead people should go for middle variant of a higher segment car IMHO (wait for nexon)[evil].

I wouldnt place my bets totally on Nexon, knowing Tata and Mahindra, best to wait for 2nd gen before going ahead for their vehicles
Also Nexon is getting new in house engines which have yet to prove their worth compared to engines like the Revtrons and the MJDs

With due respect I think there were not much flaws with Tata developed diesel engines lately. Yes GB was a concern but I think Tata is testing it to the core to wash this image so I think it would not be an issue to purchase from the first lot of Nexon.

Other than Varicor 400 and the Fiat MJD , there only the Tiago/Tigor 1L 3 cylinder which is a poor performer and is too new in the market to judge completely
Though Ill withhold my stance until I TD Nexon

Whatever justifications we put forward, Tigor will get definitely compared with the upcoming Dzire, and what more, new Dzire does look desirable for the first time in it's life cycle and with the MS badge, it's even more desirable. If the Tigor was launched with that Geneva Edition front facia, then we could have easily picked Tigor purely for it's design. Such was the charm of that edition. With a Tiago front, it's not much interesting to look at atleast from the front. Coupled with the underwhelming response from the motors, I sincerely hope Tigor sustaining the 3K sales figure in the coming months.

P.S:- I'm not at all a Tata Basher [:)]

Just plonk in MJD Engine and Revotron (Zest Engine), and they can easily place it above Zest.
They can discontinue Zest or give it to yellow plate.

Facelift was the easiest thing they could have done without spending much in R&D. Right from the conceptualization of Tigor, it was supposed to be positioned below Zest. Facelift for Zest is pending for a while now, but with the current design it can't hold much in the crowded CS segment. Also I'm not sure whether Tigor is as spacious as Zest. Tiago was well received and often compared only with Celerio and not with Grand i10 because of its attractive pricing. In case of Tigor, because of its slightly higher pricing is often get compared with Aspire and Dzire.

I don't know why, may be they are too busy with the new launches, facelift for the existing models are not happening. IIRC, Zest was launched in August 2014, and still in it's 3rd year haven't received a facelift at all.

I think we will see a new Zest on AMP as current platform might be faced off along with that Tata will first put 1.5L 4 cylinder mill in Nexon and then they will go ahead with Zest.

What I suggest and I quoted earlier as well that Tata can use CR4 mill from Indigo line up till then in Tigor.

We are now talking about an engine replacement in a car just 1.5 months old. I don't know how much good or bad such a thing is for a newly launched model. May be we are expecting too much from a car that is based on a hatchback. As an industry standard, the hatch and it's sedan sibling is supposed to have the same engines [lol] TML has improved the petrol engines with the balancer shaft. Hence again and again it's the pricing that's coming to my mind. How much VFM is Tigor. In India we can't sell a car lonely for it's looks, boot space and music system. Especially for a brand that is starving to survive, prices could have been lower so that all these short comings of underwhelming motors could have been masked easily IMHO. Similar to Tiago strategy, prices could be increased in every two months or so.[sleep]

Offtopic: Hope Tata will plonk the updated Revotron in Tiago as well. Also expecting Tiago like introductory pricing for Nexon as well. Hey TML, those people who are now showing too much interest in Nexon will not take a look if you price it ambitiously right from the start.[;)]
