Agreed with you brother.
The max torque this GB can handle is 140 NM, though company loves to play safe, a tuning box can be fitted.

As per the new agreement Tata signed up only for 2.0L MJD engine not 1.3L engine which means no plans of introduction of 1.3MJD in any of the offering.

Tata if not MJD then bring in the 1.5L revotorq fast even if required to plonk a detuned version in Tigor then go ahead.

There are some signs showing that upcomming TATA's 1.5L Revotorq diesel could be based on VW's 1.5L TDI both engines power and torque figures are identical, So as a part of Alliance first move could be engine sharing

The 1.5L Revotorq is an outcome of tech sharing between Tata and JLR Ingenium lineup and 4 cylinder avataar of 1.05L revotorq from tiago if am not wrong and if the info I got from the insider is correct. He even told me that this engine can do wonders for Tata if can be mated with an effective supercharger and correct GB which Tata is lacking and I think they already working on a new GB with AMT paddle shift as well(unconfirmed report) and might be the same GB which was shown in Racemo. Let's see what will come out fro the Tata's RnD box in coming time.

One thing is sure is that once AMP will get into production Tata will bring in the much-needed finesse as the AMP will be pretty lighter (good for FE) and then Tata will no longer require tuning the engine to milk out better FE figures by compromising on power and refinement levels.

Hi All,
Can any Tigor Owner comment about the mileage they are getting.
I test drove Tigor last weekend and for the whole 6 to 7 km test drive , mileage shown on the MID was 8kmpl.
Would be great to know what is the actual mileage of the car from tankful to empty.

I think Tata should go ahead and use bumper from Geneva edition and a bigger engine maybe a CR4 mill from existing Indigo range with a new variant -- Tigor CR4

Cool, Red is really very good (my experience with my Devil) and catches lot of eyeballs.

Except cost-cutting I don't feel single reason why TATA have given Tiago headlights. They could have given double barrel halogen headlights IMO.

Copper and Red are my choice for Tigor.

Great, Red seems to be leading.

I think 15" diamond cut alloys also adds to the look.

Noy a confirm news yet, but it's rumoured to launch in July-end or in early-August.

Pune Concorde Sales person told me that it will take some time. Though he didnt have any news about it, he mentioned from his exp that company usually wont launch new version so quickly...

I didnt buy his logic. I feel AMT will bring more people. People like me wants AMT for hassle free drive in traffic and wants a big car as well to suit all family requirements.

Also, Since Dzire AMT is about to launch, Tigor will miss the race..

MJD will increase the cost and even the GB will be changed then by which it will fall into the category of of Zest, Aspire, dzire and others which Tata would not want to do as Tigor is a segment below than other CS sedans in the market and the kind of dimensions Tigor is made of it is smaller than others.

Coming to CR4 mill, it's is quite refined and pretty successful without much biggies reported and I never find it more crude than the NVH of Honda City/amaze's engine.

Any thoughts on CR4 mill by others as well

Very well said !!! Even i think the same, Tata by holding its cards will just loose potential customers once Dzire comes with AMT , cause many people like us are waiting for a good affordable sedan with AMT. Today's traffic condition makes it necessary to have AMT. Atleast they should give info of the timeline when they are planning to launch. That way people can decide whether to wait or not ..
