Guys if you notice, Tiago and Indica have exactly same wheelbase. Same I noticed with Tigor and Indigo CS. So Tamo claiming they increased wheelbase of Tiago to make Tigor may be just for marketing. In reality they are both derived from earlier Indica siblings.

I am getting a feeling both Tiago and Tigor are using same underpinning as Indica / CS..just with different body shell and engine with one less cylinder.

True, Tiago/Tigor are based on heavily modified Indica platform (X0). But it's not just different body shell, they are completely different cars compared to Indica.

Tigor does 3.6k+ units this time. Its third in CS category and close to Xcent. Hope people realize its not just Tiago with a boot as variant to variant its got more features and body is also changed getting wider, and more wheelbase. The new Dzire is expected to be 50k more expensive than the outgoing model which makes the Tigor even more appealing and VFM!
Tigor has some cannibalisation on Tiago but not much. Its not eaten into Zest share much as its doing almost usual numbers. Xcent is doing good numbers too. Probably eaten the pie of Dzire and Amaze!

With the new Dzire ans xcent i think tigor will be up against the wall..not sure if the beat sedan is ever coming
That said the tigor as mentioned will prob steady down to 2 to 2500 unuts per month
Still feel uts a tad overpriced

I am not sure what is the break-up of petrol and diesel sales in this segment. 60% may be for the petrol? Given that 3600 does seem to be a good number. I think Tiago also had a slow start. So coming months should give some insights. I have absolutely no hope for the Diesel. It is a blue whale with a mouse's heart. Simply attrocious. I hated Tata for that and will never forgive them.

According to another forum, the OTR of new base variant of Dzire will be 6.5 L. With all safety features and better engine, it will be a tough competitor to Tigor. Tigor might suit the taxi segment.

Safety features are there in Tigor as well and with a thicker metal sheet my bet would be on Tigor. And Tata would no sooner allow Tiago and Tigor into Taxi segments as its in brand building stage and would sacrifice sales for brand building. Taxi segment is even fiercer now with Dzire ruling the roost along with xcent and etios. Tata should get a bigger diesel heart in Tigor. Petrol is fine though.

Tata should have put the shaft balancer in Tiago as well. Its unfair to Tiago now [anger]

Sirji, Dzire is expected to come with Dual Airbags, ABS with EBD as standard but Tigor comes only one safety equipment. TATA is worse in feature-variant breakup.

P.S. As per the document shared by Manimaran Bro, Balance Shaft maybe added in Tiago soon.

Ethically Tata should install it for free on existing Petrol Tiagos.
Then for this TATA might have to issue a recall even if its a silent one. Recalling a vehicle by any brand for that matter might sound good to the owners but in larger picture it often impacts the reliability of the product as well as image of a brand to an extent buddy.

Instead of a recall they can fit these when cars come in for service, with the consent of owners without charging them for it,IMHO.
