On newer models? Or it can be installed on existing too?
Most probably for newer models.
As per TASS there is provision for balance Shaft in petrol, but fitting it won't be easy and Engine will be required to be removed. So I doubt on recall part too.

Hi Gautam, Was it shared on TAI? Can you please share a link to it?
Bro it was shared on whatsapp Tiago group(s). I myself have shared it on ATOM yesterday.
Will PM you the document again.

With the upcoming launch of Maruti Suzuki Dzire, future of Tigor is unpredictable. Dzire, is going to hit Tigor sales for sure. It's not because Tigor is not good enough, but it is because it is going to compete with Market leader that too in its better Avatar. However, if the variant to variant difference between Tigor and Dzire remains around 1 lac, I think Tigor is still the better choice with better built, cheaper price tag, better looks (specially from back) etc. If Tata wants to give tough fight to Dzire, I have a few suggestions for them

1. Offer 1.3 MJD (Afterall, you half own Fiat India) and 1.2 turbo engines at least as options.
2. Make safety kit standard (or at least as an option) across the range. Tigor XT with Airbags, ABS etc. will make a very good option for buyers. Add more airbags in XZ(O).
3. Produce enough Tigors and Tiagos, so that one will not have to wait for a month or two to get car delivered.
4. Launch Tigor AMT. And, that too on XT trim onwards.
5. Offer a factory fitted or dealership fitted CNG/LPG option too.
6. Train service and dealership staff to provide better After sales services.

Tigor won't have Dzire as direct rival.

Also your point 1, I doubt 1.2L K-Series Engine will be turbocharged.

TATA should wakeup soon before getting damage Tigor is a great product in terms of features list and price but lack in diesel power train, they should avail 1.3L Q-jet90 diesel mill as option in two variants XT and XZ respectively to get out from under powered tag line

Hi All,
I am surprised there is not even a single pic online or in Tata Website how Tigor XT version looks like. All pics shared are of XZ option variant only.
How is the customer suppossed to buy without even seeing how it looks without alloys and what kindof wheel covers they provide.
Also Tiago XZA and Tigor XT is priced almost equally in on road price in Bangalore.
Am confused which one to go for !!
Also there is not a single review of Tiago XZA from a leading auto magazine or website.
Tata should pull their socks up if they really want to add to their customer base.. i am just waiting for the above things to show up before deciding on a new car.

Thanks & Regards,
Nikhil

I believe this is common across all brands in India. Please visit your dealership if they have XT on display. Worst case they should be able to take you to their stockyard and show you one.

As per the new agreement Tata signed up only for 2.0L MJD engine not 1.3L engine which means no plans of introduction of 1.3MJD in any of the offering.

Tata if not MJD then bring in the 1.5L revotorq fast even if required to plonk a detuned version in Tigor then go ahead.

Dear All,

Please help me to decode the Insurance and RTO charges for similar priced cars.

I was comparing current Dzire prices with Tigor to predict how VFM new dzire would be when compared to Tigor. (There are reports that new dzire wud be 30-50k costlier than current one).

While checking on road prices (for Pune location) I noticed below 2 things.
(price is checked online on carwale.com)
1. the RTO charges for Tigor is 15k more for similar ex-room price.
2. the insurance amt for Tigot is 9k more...

Dexire VXI ABS
---------------
Ex-Showroom Price 6,39,911
RTO 61,350
Insurance 22,049
On-Road Price (Pune) 7,23,310

Tigor XZ(O)
------------
Ex-Showroom Price 6,39,011
RTO 76,021
Insurance 31,519
On-Road Price (Pune) 7,46,551

Looks like an error to me, RTO charges should be same for both cars, as they are from same segment & engine capacity. Also insurance estimate is bloated in carwale, you would easily get minimum 5K less than their quote.

Is carwale so reliable? I highly doubt. Better to get the prices from showroom.

They could have simply added VGT (instead of FGT) on Tiago's diesel engine to bump up the power.
As 80% demand is for Tiago Petrol, they hope to get similar response for Tigor so they are not concentrating much on Diesel Tigor, one reason why diesel Tiago have 14" tyres.

Agree with you[thumbsup] a VGT on Diesel and a small turbo on petrol would have made a lot of difference. However I feel engines are adequate, but cars are a bit heavy (Due to better built as compared to Maruti/Hyundai). Also they should have worked on the transmission, I feel gear ratios are a bit long(may be for better fuel economy). 1.3 MJD would have made Tigor an all rounder though.

Oh yeah, how did I forgot about the transmission [frustration]
The present GB can't handle more torque, so adding VGT will bump in increase in torque figures which will require to change GB.

You nailed it Gautam

Which means either new setup from Nexon can be done else it will remain the same however what's the maximum this existing GB can handle in terms or torque?
