@Akash1886 Whenever you attend any launch event, make sure the glass on your camera lens is clean before taking pictures. (post #910 & #911)
Point noted buddy. Will ensure the same in case it happens. I do keep it clean max. number of times, this time maybe I missed out. Thanks for suggesting.

Dear All,

Need help to choose between Tigor XZ and XZ(O). Actually I am confused between TIGOR top 2 variant and Tiago XZA (AMT wud be fun to drive in city), but I would think about tiago after taking TD for XZA (that is still not availble in Pune(Baner)).

I would like to know your comments and advice for the extra that XZ(O) is offering.

Feature
Desirability
My Thoughts
ACC
Desirable, but not Must

Touch Screen
Not Desired
I want buttons operated infotainment for less distraction and more reliability. I may can easily upgrade in future if required.
Rear view Camera
Must Have
I hope I can get rear camera to work on XZ model screen.

Someone mentioned 3 more difference, which i think is not correct. I think, Tyre size is same in both and boot is remote operate in both models. Please correct me if I am wrong.

And XZO got
-Better infotainment system (Touchscreen)
-ACC
-Rear view Camera
-Better and bigger wheels (P)
-Electrical boot opening
-Knitted roof fabric

(-)power train nos means -- Except the change in Engine power figures (Power & Torque Figures)

I am checking it out even today too as yesterday due to the hall lights many things weren't as clear.

Am looking for the space in the cabin
The cabin is similar to that of Tiago but the leg space in rear is good. The seats though felt comfortable but are a bit low slung.

Stance of the car with those big wheels on Petrol
The stance is very nice and Tigor has one of the best looking rears after Aspire. Having seen it in daytime recently, this is a graceful looking compact sedan.

Any improvement on the interior front
The rear doors had dual tone door pads, the quality of plastics is satisfactory.

What is that knitted roof liner in XZ[O]
Variant at launch was XZ. Will confirm with the dealer.

And if you driven it, the refinement of petrol motor
Will be doing a TD by weekend if the TD cars arrive here.

Yes you are correct on

-Better and bigger wheels (P)
-Electrical boot opening

However Knitted roof fabric is the difference quoted here.

When it is a comparison between XZ & XZO the main difference is ACC and rest is related with the Infotainment system.
If I want to save some amount, I can live without ACC and will get aftermarket rear view camera installed later then I would say XZ is pretty much a complete car and I too not fond of the touchscreen system in Tigor.

And I think XZ would be the highest selling model of Tigor.

Sir, It would have been nice if beside taking photos you had also asked some questions at the launch. For eg why airbags are not standard or provided as an option on the lower variants.

Thanks for your response.

I called Tata motors to find out the difference, but the sales person said he has not received specification and hence cant comment.

Salesperson (Pune Baner Concorde) is hopeful to get Tiago AMT TD vehicle by tomorrow. Finger crossed [:)]

Tiago XZ and Tigor XZ(O) come with knitted roof line which is simply put not just thermocol type roof in usual cars but there is a full fabric stitching which makes the roof look premium and much better than cars double its price. We loved this additional premium feature when we were checking the Tiago XZ for buying. Tigor XZ misses out on it sadly but Tigor XZ(O) has this.

It is a tough choice between XZ and XZ(0)

XZ(0) offer these + over XZ
Touchscreen
Voice command
Video and image playback
4 tweetiers
Automatic climate control
rear parking camera
knitted roof liner

Price difference =Rs 29000

Now none of these features are absolute necessity, you can do without them but IMHO factory fitted reverse camera would be much better, if you want one !

Comparison Between Tata Tigor & Ford Aspire:
The closest Call & the newest Kids on the block in the segment[:)]
Few things to be noted on Ford Aspire & Tata Zest:

*Both cars were and are incredibly VFM propositions with impressive feature lists,But are they selling ? Nope. Aspire & Zest averages 2-2.5K per month & sits at the lower level in the segment behind Xcent,Amaze & Dzire.

*Tigor could only be considered as a success if it trumps at the least the Amaze & become the second best seller in the segment since the potential of the car is such. With a 30K pending orders for Tiago right now , I guess Tata motors would be confident on Tigor.

*Also I doubt Tata motors preponed the Tigor launch with same powertrains of Tiago against the original plan of more powerful diesel. Hopes they may give the diesel engine update & AMT updates together.

Few interesting data on Tigor:

What are the fuel efficiency figures, couldn't find them anywhere? Are they similar to tiago? On pricing XT variant is decently equipped but not providing airbags is a Blunder. Pricing of XZ and XZO are expensive for 30k imho than what should they have been.

At the launch there were 2 reasons i.e No dedicated Q/A round held and secondly as we had to give the TAI-COTY trophy, we were busy in coordinating for that buddy. Now, about your query, I spoke to the dealer SA in Delhi today, he told, its because of pricing factor. However, I felt his reply wasn't convincing enough for me.

Tiago XZ and Tigor XZ(O) come with knitted roof line which is simply put not just thermocol type roof in usual cars but there is a full fabric stitching which makes the roof look premium and much better than cars double its price.
Absolutely right. I did check the XZ (O) variant today and the in-cabin roof definitely gives a premium feel and the fabric also feels soft but yes, the White fabric is prone to stains.

@Akash, agree with you its prone to stains. I am wondering how you never observed that in Tiago. Variant wise Tata does these blunders-
XT- not providing airbags. Should have given instead of abs if they wanted to accomodate in similar pricing.
XZ - not providing 4 tweeters is a blunder and even the knitted roof to some extent as both are present in Tiago XZ.

But they have provided some new features in XZ so Tigor XZ becomes give and take interms if features compared to Tiago XZ. Tigor is not overpriced actually esp petrol if you compare the looks, quality of interiors and features provided compared to competition but Tiago was underpriced at launch and even now to some extent which makes Tigor look expensive and a bit overpriced.

My take would be ABS than Airbags as ABS is more important which act to avoid miss happening/accident wherein airbags comes into play after the accident and that too if the seat belts were fastened which we Indians miss most of the time[frustration]

So ABS is more important than Airbags and am not saying airbags are not important[evil]
