@Akash, agree with you its prone to stains. I am wondering how you never observed that in Tiago. Variant wise Tata does these blunders-
XT- not providing airbags. Should have given instead of abs if they wanted to accomodate in similar pricing.
XZ - not providing 4 tweeters is a blunder and even the knitted roof to some extent as both are present in Tiago XZ.
Same thoughts here bro, I would have loved to retain knitted roof liner and 2 missing tweeters in Tigor XZ as well. There is no need for XZ-O at all, they could have kept XZ as top variant and may be introduce a new mid-variant instead [frustration].

My take would be ABS than Airbags as ABS is more important which act to avoid miss happening/accident wherein airbags comes into play after the accident and that too if the seat belts were fastened which we Indians miss most of the time[frustration]

So ABS is more important than Airbags and am not saying airbags are not important[evil]
Kasscon I agree with you to a great extent and according to me both are equally important but the issue is our janta sees that competition (say Aspire equivalent) offers Airbags and Tigor XT does not and they write off Tigor XT. They didn't count ABS as strong point of XT. But since both Aspire and Tigor XT won't be providing ABS and providing airbags it would be an equal match.

With increase in weight, size and same engines were you expecting something different!!!![thinking]
Well yes. Xcent FE was better than prefacelift grand i10. Dzire almost equal to swift. Aspire almost equal to figo. Zest amost equal to bolt. Hence the disappointment. They are good figures though vis a vis competition.

Rishabh, in the actual driving, the FE would be lesser than the claimed FE by ARAI. If the FE is 20 km/L then atleast a reduction of 15-20% will be there and one may get FE between 16-17 km/L and if its 24 km/L then expect an FE of around 20-21 km/L.

Of course yes. My point is if tiago can get ARAI figures of 23.8 for petrol, why tigor couldn't? Yes weight increase should decrease FE but competition is able to extract same. Average indian buyer would have been mesmerized listening these figures

For me pardon my ignorance but I guess the weight is because Tatas have not resorted to using thin panels, and hopefully all the necessary reinforcements on the cars.

Benefit of non-thin panels will be that it wont dent easily on small scratches here and there.

So I would definitely go for the heavier car. I know heavier car may not necessarily mean safe car however, I am happy that Tata cars are no Tin cans.

OT:
I have a storme and its plastic (external claddings) are also super strong. I have couple of minor accidents which had potential to screw up the bumpers but bumpers having strong heavy duty fibre being used, it is not showing up. It has saved me from my car looking bad, saved me from putting screws on the bumper to keep in place. In general peace of mind.

If they have done this, kudos to them. Even i don't like tin cans.

Completely agree with you Rishabh. 3kmpl difference for both petrol and diesel both are much more than a mere 50kg weight difference can affect. This i due to revamped gearing. People have been complaining about less pickup of Tiago so Tata has altered the gearing. Some gearing probably have been made shorter and what I have observed in the reviews is better and smoother acceleration. To each his/her own.

@vicky, not completely sure but read somewhere that the AMP platform Tata is developing would make their future generations car lighter. Not completely sure but body strength won't be too much worse compared to the new cars.

That is the beauty of quoting ARAI figures! Your real life average never comes anywhere near ARAI's - but like you said, its great for mesmerising the buyer! My feeling is that TM is trying to be realistic with FE figures. They feel that their recent products (Tigor/Tiago/Zest) are good enough to stand on their own, without that psychological crutch of inflated FE figures. I'm keeping my fingers crossed (as I believe most of us are!) that their confidence is justified and that TM have a winner on their hands.
