I am disappointed with the absence of airbags in the two lower variants. XT with two optional airbags would have made much sense. We have two tiagos in our family and another cousin wanted to buy the third, I suggested him to wait and buy Tigor instead. But, it is either too pricey over tiago or he'll have to compromise with safety.
Overall, I love the premium-ness tata offers in tiago at that cost.

Somehow I feel, Tata will offer optional pack for all tje variants after the initial round of bookings, Deliveries and the awaited increase of prices by other manufacturers (as suggested by the birdie from TATA)

Abhishek I live in Chennai. So the price of Tiago XZ Diesel comes to 5.89 lakhs as per carwale. Tigor is costing around 1.10 lakh premium for the same variant which can be hit or a miss. I feel they could have priced it 20 K lesser as a launch Price would have got it to an explosive start. I am expecting major sales from petrol variants rather than diesel.
I was comparing the petrol prices instead. I too feel that Diesel variants could have been priced atleast 10k lesser but petrol seems spot on. Iteratively I would say that it's not just a Tiago with a boot but with more features and body structure changes like Stylish Styleback design, longer wheelbase, wider. Tata messed up by not providing Airbags in xt. They could have instead omitted ABS. That said hope they would provide an option for airbags for each variant. At showrooms we would also get xz without alloys which IMO would be good VFM (~25k saving).
People are being too harsh for a 3cyl engine. Ofcourse it won't be as smooth as a 4cyl one but an average consumer is more concerned about FE, price than power and smoothness. That said let the expert reviews come to find out how good or bad it is. With almost all cos overpricing their cars even Tata needs some profit to shell out more cars like Tiago/Hexa.

Some of my friends have this dilemma between choosing Tiago XZ Petrol & Tigor XT Petrol.
Just for comparison and easier decision making here are a few points I noticed.

Price wise:
Tiago XZ Petrol (Chennai) - 4,93,610/- (Without alloy)
Tigor XZ Petrol (Delhi) - 5,90,000/-
Tigor XT Petrol (Delhi) - 5,40,000/-

Tiago XZ Diesel (Chennai)- 5,73,653/- (Without alloy)
Tigor XZ Diesel (Delhi) - 6,80,000/-

TIAGO XZ vs TIGOR XT

Tiago XZ - Fully loaded hatchback

Tigor XT -
Drawbacks are
1. No chrome on waistline, near fog lamps
2. Not much safety features - no airbag, no pretensioner seat belt, no reardefogger
3. No alloys
4. No Body colour air vent on dashboard
5. cheaper inner roof material & no chrome on air vent surrounds
6. No touch screen music system, basic Harman layout
7. No reversing camera, only sensors
8. Approx 50K costlier

Tigor XT advantages:
You get
1. ABS
2. More space inside the car - more legroom
3. Bigger Boot
4. Although its a basic Harman player (way better than what we usually end up buying outside)
5. Foldable armrest on rear seat
6. Safer than Tiago in a crash (rear boot too adds up as a crumple zone)

Similarities:

Both cars (XT &XZ) variants come with Steering mounted music controls
14" wheels
Similar speedometers/instrument panel
Mechanically identical inside the engine bay - Same Engines, same level of tuning

See the pics below for the engine specs - Screenshots taken from Tiago & Tigor Websites.

All the best.

OT:
How could Tata even think of offered 13" wheels on the base variant of Tigor?
Base Variant = 13inch wheels
XT & XZ = 14inch steel or 15"alloys

Wont there be sky & earth difference in handling of the lower variants. Or is Tata being ready for Yellow board segment again. Hope this does not end up like Bolt & Zest.

For me it is a straight try-out between Tigor or Zest. It will be diesel for sure. Any scope of getting Cash discounts and other offers on Zest that can make it attractive?
