Ok let me go further with the info - would you like 1.05L engine with 74-78 ps with 190nm of power or a bit enhanced CR4 mill from ecs?

As I learnt from the hint of birdie that Tata has already tested two diesel engines on Kite5 and is now ready for launch the finalized one.

As I learnt from the hint of birdie that Tata has already tested two diesel engines on Kite5 and is now ready for launch the finalized one.
i thought that fitting a Vgt to that 1.05 diesel would produce atleast 80bhp. Anyway lets hope for the best. 190Nm is just phenomenal for a small diesel unit. Even the 4cyl 1.3 of the dzire produces same figures. It's gonna be a great year for Tata i suppose.

Any bump in power would certainly be welcome. But I think Tata Motors will need to use a different gear box for that. The current gearbox has the ability to handle torque of upto around 140 NM. For a higher torque output, a newly developed gearbox could be used or the Fiat gearbox could be borrowed.

Will AC be effective for this engine ?
Did not get the logic in your question!!

Any increase in power output from the engine will mean a better ability to handle the load of the AC compressor, isn't it?

Tata already developed 6s gear box which we saw in nexon and we might see that in kite however I think the GB in Zest can handle 74ps amd 190 nm.

I am in love with Boot opening Hinge+gas strut mechanism, please have a look.

Well for me there will be no end to expectation from tata. The moment we have Kite5 launched, thre will be comparision between Kite 5 and Vento and City and Ciaz and to that matter with Etios too on the space, power and other factors which do belong to the uppper segments just the way its happening with Tiago.

So basically for me Tata should concentrate on the giving a peppy engine for its class, with great interiors and great FE at a Great price.

Well 78 HP is higher than the Scorpio Entry variant and higher than Swift dezire. Even Duster has a 85 BHP engine. Anyones complaining? Do you want to haul Trailer behind the car? Are you going to race with the car. For me 78 HP is more than enough for a car size of Kite5. But yeah it is one more tick in the box, for the people who would love to find issues with a car and reason to say no to it.

Difference of a few HP here and there will mean no driving discomfort for normal "aam junta" like us. So Again I have no issues with 78HP produced on a 1 litre engine. Infact it will be competition to the ecoboost.

You took my words 74hp with 190nm of torque mated with 6 speed gear box and amazing looking exteriors? How can it happen that to by Tata Motors.

Now it requires comparison with upper class and we might see comparison of refignment with ecoboost engines and still people will say the high end model price is near about the base model of 2 segment above car.

I particularly liked the HMSL covering the entire length of the windscreen along with the spoiler, classic.

This is the best looking sub 4m sedan hands down. I can't imagine a better integrated boot with in the length constraint. To be honest, I have never been a fan of compact sedans. But this one won my heart though.

The GB in Zest & Bolt diesels is the Fiat one.

The Gearboxes used in Zest and Bolt are from FIAT. They are capable of handling more than 200NM torque. The Nexon will have 6 speed gearbox, so I think the Gearbox on the KITE will be the same as that of the Tiago, but with optimized gear ratios.
