The most logical feature that comes to mind is the mild hybrid gimmick. It will reduce the tax, which in turn will help kite reduce it's price.

I guess, going by the latest spy pic, it may have a touch screen HK head unit, maybe with Carplay and Android Auto as standard (unique in the segment). Also TML may surprise the market by plinking the 1.5L diesel engine with 6S gearbox.

Hoping it's a twin turbo diesel as it will have better torque spread between rpm range.
But the feature that segment doesn't have also applies for petrol .that is the reason I think of others mentioned above in my post

Twin turbo? I wonder what makes you guys think of that, but its stupid to have two turbos in an affordable family car. Imagine the fuel Bills and even the service cost for two turbo. They will have to re engineer the whole engine to install two turbo. Pointless and logic less.

Going by all these bans and severe pressure point from the govt. It's no use putting a twin turbo as this car mainly targets a family man rather than to young individuals which means he needs an economic one.

OK may not be twin turbo but could be a VGT with higher power & torque figures.

Why tata is testing kite5 with higher power and torque figures? family man doesn't needs this.

Ji! Higher power, but safe and sane amount of power is always welcome.
It is already known that the Kite 5 diesel will be using the same 1.05L Revotorq as the Tiago, but with a bigger/Variable Geometry turbo. This is likely to increase the power to atleast 85bhp and Torque to 180Nm.
Afterall, a bigger and heavier car always needs more power.

What about the gear box? The higher torque output will need a different gear box too. If at all they are thinking of more power for Kite 5, then they might have developed a new gear box or might have borrowed the one from Fiat.

But my gut feeling says that Tata Motors might offer the standard 1.05L Revotorq engine with the same specs as in Tiago for the Kite 5. They can tweak the Final Drive ratio to make it feel more peppier.

I certainly hope what you say is true.

But as far as my past reading goes, the gearbox used in the Tiago is the one that has been doing duty from Indica days. Even the Common Rail version of the Indica's 1.4L engine's output was restricted to under 140 Nm torque because of the gearbox's restrictions. The same was the case with the Revotron 1.2L engine employed in Zest/Bolt, where the torque output has been restricted to about 140 Nm because of the same gear box. This Revotron engine was capable of generating about 170 Nm of peak torque thanks to it's turbo-charger. The case is same with the Tiago Diesel's output.

Need to admit it!! Kite's rear looks awesome as of now. Hope the windshield is connected to boot lid.
It looks like these days designers are giving some attention to rear designing. Felt so as I see other decent rear designs like City, Ciaz, Baleno, Ecosport, RediGO, etc.. Yes, I agree that usually the Rear-Looks of a car are followed much on the road than the Frontal.
