Re: Tata Kite 5 Compact Sedan Unveiled (Indigo eCS Replacement)
Protecting Zest volumes from one of it's own products isn't a priority for Tata Motors, I think. Zest + Bolt are generating just about 3K units monthly volumes. On the other hand Tiago + Kite5 could be generating over 10K units in monthly numbers once the products stabilise.
The lower diesel variants for Zest are probably being repositioned for the commercial segment and hence the 75 bhp change. In any case major chunk of private buyers were going for the top-end XT variant or the XTA variant. I am of the opinion that the Zest & Bolt Revotron still have immense potential, thanks to their turbo-charged 1.2L Petrol motors. They should be repositioned as sportier options mainly because none of the other competing 1.2L NA Petrol motors can match their performance.
Good thought but i don't think they will spike up the power up from 70bhp. I strongly say this because if they do so then Zest will not have any takers. Remember they recently made changes to Zest trims and now only XT gets 90 bhp and the rest all are plonking the 74 bhp motor. So i feel Kite S should be having the same engine as in Tiago.
