Re: Tata Kite Compact Sedan (Indigo eCS Replacement)

Don't know what to say, I got the design the way I thought after spy shot observation.

My take- Rear looks amazing and will put fingers to the mouth of people who abused Tata for the rear design of Indica and the family.

Headlights-great detailing and there would be not projectors (asking too much). But still great[clap]

Grill - amazing however I will still reserve my comments on front look as it looks tooo sharp.[surprise]

Side profile - Tata going to shake the segment which those sharp lines and mature feel of design. Am impressed.

Still final verdict would be after I see it on face of clear picture of the Car. Am being devil here[glasses]
Wonderfully described ! From the moment I saw the grill and the headlights I could not take my eyes of. They look so much better than all the renderings and more importantly the front end seems to have PRESENCE!

Yes the front end looks too sharp for me the face looks like inspired from Shark Fish So bold look when this car running behind our car if we look it on rear view mirrors we feel some husky msg from this car get out from my way with bold smile [evil]

Side profile seems some what mixed match of I10 and Grand I10 but still looks better then others i wish TATA kite NotchBack looks more stunning then this due to their flowting roof lines [:D]

Tata Kite Hatch has impressed me, in fact it's the only car after Zest that has made me think to consider one. Will wait for media drives on this one and if Tata offered Diesel AMT, then surely I'll book one. Will the engines be same that is 1.2 Revotron & 1.3 Multijet

As per reports, Kite is expected to be powered by 3-cylinder version of the 1.4 CR4 motor, which will displace around 1.05L and produce around 65 bhp. But more importantly, the torque figure is expected to be very strong at 140 Nm, which is almost equal to what the 1.4 CR4 engine makes. I am still wondering if this will be true or not. But it will be amazing if it turns out to be true.

If it's 3 cylinder, then it should be 12-valves, right?

I am quite curious to know if Tata's brand new 1.2L non-turbo engine can generate numbers close to that of the experienced competition.

Re: Tata Kite Compact Sedan (Indigo eCS Replacement)

Both Kite body styles will use the original Indica’s X0 platform as a base, but apart from a few ‘hard points’ like the pedal box, engine firewall and wheelbase, there will be no carryover parts. The X0 platform itself will be greatly beefed up to improve torsional rigidity, refinement and dynamics.
Underpinning the Kites’ chassis will be an all-new suspension system. The fully-independent rear suspension of the first-generation Indica, which caused a lot of wheel geometry issues, has been replaced by a more conventional non-independent, twist beam axle seen in most hatchbacks today.
the 1.05-litre diesel, which made its public debut at the 2012 Auto Expo under the hood of the Manza Hybrid Concept. The motor, is essentially a three-cylinder version of the original 1,405cc, four-cylinder diesel which has been re-engineered with counterbalancing shafts, a stiffer block and reduced friction. The output is expected to be around 67bhp and 14kgm of torque with fuel efficiency upwards of 25kpl in the official test cycle.

Re: Tata Kite Compact Sedan (Indigo eCS Replacement)

According to ACI report TATA Developing moduler platfrom for small cars and sedans, In the process First A hatchback and NotchBack will be produce using this moduler platform but here my question is i think TATA Considering TATA X0(TATA Kite) platform as moduler platform in the view of the fact that TATA kite available with Hatchback and notchback versions and i dont this so that TATA want to come up with another hatchback and notchback, right now they are to busy in developing several products like Compact suv and premium hatch back and premium sedam based on X1 platform.

Your doubt is that TATA will replace the Kites first using the modular platform. TML will first replace the BOLT and ZEST using this new modular platform. After that they can easily work on sedan and hatchback version later. BOLT and ZEST ,may be first replaced in 2018 and then the Kites may be replaced near to 2019-20. In between they will launch the Sedan and Mini SUV based on the modular platform.

I dont this so that TATA replace X1 platform with all new moduler platform for next gen BOLT/ZEST in my view point current X1 platform is capable to swap any body style and TATA wont pull covers on their platforms so early and we all know too how they use old platforms extensively in new cars.

I can sure expect TATA's full sedam will be based on X1 platform because TATA's market presence is not big as like SUZUKI ,HONDA and Hyundai to expertise on all new platforms TATA Alwasy wanted to swap more number cars using single platform to save on R&D investment.

comming back to TATA Kite platforms it seems like it built on entirely new architecture using X0 platform as a base, So we may guess TATA Transformed TATA X0 platform into a Compact moduler platform if this true then its a good idea to expect more number of cars based on this and TATA already expertised several body styles on X0 platfrom, So it may fallow same legecy on new rebuid X0 too
