Re: Tata Kite Compact Sedan (Indigo eCS Replacement)
How come low power output=inferior technology??
Same engine can be tuned to deliver different power/torque parameters. Sometimes with just a remapped ECU.
And when was the last time people considered '0-100 time' when buying a small car?? Yes weight has been a TATA issue, but they more than makeup for it by being better safety wise compared to the competition (structural safety).
Indica platform, well. Unofficial news is that TATA will use updated indica floorpan. So cant make much of it can you!
I will really be disappointed if Tata Motors opts to introduce the new 1.2L engine with such a low power output of less than 70 PS even when they have ability to match competition's numbers with around 85 PS. If they do so, they will be spoiling their image further of producing inferior technology.
The Kite being based on the Indica platform, is not expected to be as light as the Celerio or the Wagon-R. It will need higher power output to pull itself with competitive acceleration.
