Re: Tata Kite Compact Sedan (Indigo eCS Replacement)

Here the flash news Tata Kite Hatchback Launch In October, Pre-Production Commences

The Tata Kite hatchback’s launch is around the corner as the company has commenced pre-production of the vehicle. The Indica replacement will be the best from Tata Motors ye

You read it first on MotorBeam. Tata Motors revealed that it will be launching two new cars every fiscal year till the end of this decade. Last fiscal, the Indian auto giant launched the Zest and Bolt while in the current fiscal, it will launch the Kite twins (the hatchback is likely to be called Glade while the compact sedan could be called Boom). In the next fiscal, Tata will launch the Nexon compact SUV and Hexa crossover, the latter will replace the poor selling Aria, both models being showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo. In the 2017-18 fiscal, Tata Motors will launch the Q501 5-seater and Q502 7-seater SUVs, both the vehicles being underpinned by the Land Rover Discovery platform. These SUVs will draw power from a Fiat sourced 2.0-litre MultiJet diesel engine.

Coming to Tata Motors’ next launch, it’s the Kite 4, aka the Kite hatchback which will go on sale this festive season. According to sources close to the development, the Kite hatchback has already commenced pre-production and the promotional advertisement is being shot for the vehicle. The Kite 4 and Kite 5 are very similar in front-end appearance with the big differentiator being the headlights, the hatchback uses single-barrel headlights while the sedan uses double-barrel. Our source who has also seen the car in person states that quality levels are fantastic on the new Kite, being close to what is offered by Volkswagen.

The front-end design of the Tata Kite has been rendered by us earlier, so one can get a good idea of how the car will look. The side profile is similar to the Volkswagen Polo while the rear will remind people of the old Hyundai i20 (first generation). In other news, Tata Motors will curtail production of the Nano in 2017 and manufacturing of the entry-level small car will be based on order basis by next year, this is to prevent inventory pile-up. The company has a slew of new models lined up of its existing cars including a Safari facelift next year, Bolt Sports, Pelican and an updated Sumo.

Re: Tata Kite Compact Sedan (Indigo eCS Replacement)

Whatever it is, Tata is truly getting serious i feel and its about time. But the major problem with them is thier marketing, they have an awesome car like zest which had very good following initially but they failed to keep the brand going. Hope they launch these cars soon and start adding more Tata's on road and get more marketing done.
It is true that TATA is getting serious this time and they are working hard to match their level to international manufacturers. But I think they have a long way to go and must remain very much consistent through out the journey.

To me, Zest's failure is attributed more to perception of Indian minds about TATA MOTORS than TATA's marketing department. This time TATA tried there level best to showcase the Zest and they are still trying. ZEST is WONDERFUL product. I have driven both the petrol and diesel one. To me, Zest makes more sense than a elite i20. Zest has literally everything what a customer looks for - except TATA's badge -> 1) full of niggles in their earlier car - Aria, Sumo Grande, Indica, Indigo, 1st gen TATA Safari. 2) Bad After sale service 3) Old - Very old product line up and body shells.

TATA needs completely fresh line up in their product list which should be world class product, niggle free and backed-up by excellent service, and should get rid of Vista, Manza, Aria, Indigo CS, Indica very soon.

Indeed a very good news for us. I am not in a market to buy a car now as my current car is only 2 years old. May be I will buying the next one after 5 years. I do hope that time TATA to have some excellent international level products which will force me to visit their showrooms and their service/warranty/longevity of product convince me to purchase their product. [:)]

Anyway, already I think about buying Zest sometimes in my mind. [clap] But cannot afford a second car now.

well when the entire world is copying jlr designs why should tata not do it?

Most of the indian cars have headlights inspired from evoque. the c pillar design, slanting roof line just like evoque. so its no harm if tata copies from its subsidiary

Re: Tata Kite Compact Sedan (Indigo eCS Replacement)

A new insight came to me .. Might not true..however its that Tata gonna use the old strategy for kite twins ie diffrent headlight units (single barrle vs double barrel) and diffrent interior design (dashboard design inspired by civic- low digital odometer)

Achhe din aaane wale hain ... Good going TATA[lol]

Very true that. Never have we seen tata copying/aping any car design. Right from the first car create the indica. Infact the second generation honda city (dolphin shaped) I felt had a very similar profile to the then already launched indigo. Now we see designs being copied very blatantly. The latest in the list is Rear or 2015 honda city and ciaz. So very same.

Inspiring design from others its quit common for Honda its proven in previous gen honda city the rear section almost looks like BMW inspired rear and comming back to current Gen Honda City its different story for me its a million dollar question who copied first honda copied from suzuki or suzuki copied from honda [lol] but 3years back suzuki shown Suzuki Authentics Concept(ciaz concept) sedan in shanghai auto show 2013

Re: Tata Kite Compact Sedan (Indigo eCS Replacement)

According to a report, Tata Motors will launch the much-awaited Kite (code-name) hatchback in India in October, 2015. In fact, the pre-production of the vehicle has been commenced at Tata’s Gujarat-based manufacturing facility. The Tata Kite, likely to be named ‘Glade’, will be introduced as a replacement for the Indica eV2.

The Tata Kite hatchback will be available with two engine options – the Bolt’s 1.2-liter Revotron petrol and an all-new 1.05-litre, three-cylinder diesel. While the former churns out a maximum power of 88.8bhp and 140Nm of torque, the latter one will offer an estimated power of 70bhp and 140Nm of torque. A 5-speed manual and an AMT (automated manual transmission) gearboxes will be on offer. The hatchback might also get an electronic clutch module (ESC).

Based on Tata’s new HorizonNext philosophy, the Kite will feature Tata's new signature grille with the ‘Humanity Line’, defogger in circular pattern, headlights, sloping rear windshield and an integrated rear spoiler. As far as the features are concerned, the hatchback will get a 2-DIN music system, A-Pillars integrated tweeters, glovebox and door with beige inserts, a short-diameter 3-spoke steering wheel, the Bolt/ Zest – inspired gearlever and a well-designed instrument dial.

The Tata Kite hatchback, that will take on the Chevrolet Beat, Maruti Suzuki Celerio and Hyundai Grand i10, is expected to be offered within the price range Rs. 3.50 lakh – Rs. 5 lakh (ex-showroom).
