I just finished reading all your posts in this thread. I am sorry that you had to face so many niggles with your Tiago. I also faced few issues with my orange XZ P and am not happy with the quality of workmanship by service center.
I assume you raised your issues as complaints in TMSC app rather than feedback? If not please raise them as complaints as they got me a lot of attention to resolve gear lever vibes.
FE - I have to agree with you over poor FE numbers in city/b2b traffic. This is not what I expected from a 3 pot engine and is a real bummer [frustration].

Is that the fuel tank that appears to be made of plastic in your under belly picture?

I wouldn't be surprised if the fuel tank is made of plastic .. most companies aim at weight reduction and even ford's these days have plastic fuel tanks .. I was told by the technicians there at ford [frustration]

Yes, PRERANA MOTORS service is pathetic. I own Zest Quadrajet XT and for all my service I stand near my car and make them do things. They dont care for issues and they just know to change engine oil. I have never had a car wash from them due to the pathetic way they do it. All the 3 services done there(1st service, 2nd service and the catalytic converter recall) were under my supervision. If you standby your car and instruct them they will obey you with anger on their face.
The best way to get a solution for the issues is to call the Tata Toll free number(that you get while booking service via app) and file a complaint stating they are not resolving the issue. I am sure that within 5 minutes the manager will be contacting you. It has happened for me.

Once my key remote was not working. It was draining the battery within 3 days. I raised the issue with the PRERANA MOTORS service center. They made me come to their Kudlu Gate service center 3 times for studying the issue. The remote is under warranty and all they need to do is to replace it. On my 3rd visit I understood that they are useless and I called the toll free number from the service center itself and registered a complaint with TATA MOTORS regarding my issue. What I saw really surprised me. The manager came from nowhere shouting my name and took me to his cabin and pleaded to close the complaint. I told him I will close it if I get the replacement remote key, within 1 hour they brought a new remote key from the parts team got it cut and paired it with my car.........Issue resolved....... I closed the case with TATA MOTORS and thanked them for the immediate support.

TATA MOTORS has the ability to produce wonderful products like Zest, Tiago, Nexon, Kite, Hexa etc......These service centers are the spoiling the reputation of TATA MOTORS. All they need to work on is proper Service Centers.!

First Service Update @ KHT Motors on 21st July 2016:

I had booked an appointment through the app.
Left early to office, completed some work and then headed to the dealership.

Reached the dealership at 9.25 am.
Prior to this had enquired to KHT Motors regarding the options available on Engine oil brands.
Read that Petronas engine oil is for diesel vehicles and Castrol for petrol vehicles.
Downside is the engine oil is not available in a sealed can.
They had only barrels.
They pushed aside my engine oil request, and insisted for anti-rust coating for under body. I declined and insisted for engine oil change.
Issue reported: Muck accumulating near petrol inlet area. Rear fog lamp non-functional.
Was in touch with the service GM of KHT.
The vehicle was taken inside and was waiting for a bay.
Finally at 10 am it got a bay assigned.

I was with the vehicle till the engine oil, filter and fuel filter were changed.
Which took time till 11:45 am.

Post that i returned to work and collected vehicle at 4.45 pm.

Summary: The only issue reported was not resolved.
This time vehicle cleaning was good, but the dust in the cup holders were there. But i had to rush back to office. Overall the experience was far better than prerana motors.
The SA was informing me on the vehicle status, which was a positive sign.
And he also informed me that the reported issue was not taken care of. As they are expecting some upgrade from Tata. So i was not surprised as the SA informed me in advance. The rear fog lamp has no switch, so until Tata designs one, no solution for this.
The plastic strap large is the one which eliminates the gear lever vibration. I had not reported any gear lever vibration, but they have added this on their own.

Some Neagtives: No flexibility in choosing engine oil brand. Even after insisting for a sealed pack.
I would rate them 8/10.
Thank you milemuncher for insisting this place for service.

The rear fog lamp has no switch, so until Tata designs one, no solution for this.
Is it possible to attach rear fog lamp with front fog lamps through relays so warranty is not voided. So when you switch on front fogs, rear fog will automatically lit up.

Mukesh there are lots of things which I am seeing for the firSt time.

Why fuel filter was changed ? Plastic strap ? Rust off ? And why standard checks were charged ?



Edit saw the plastic strap charge. Do you notice any difference?

I too saw them going here and there in one of the customers vehicle. A sky Grey Tata Zest number KA05MS0253. Is this the same one you saw?

Thank god I never leave my car in service center.
Hope ur issues will be resolved.

I have never seen KHT using costumers car they have red sumo with 24/7 service written on it. When for pick up and drop the use sumo at times test drive bolt

well, I see ventilated discs there. You check the cross section, which looks hollow and not solid.

car should not be evaluated for mileage at low kms. I feel that a engine is at it's peak condition after setting in, getting used to a driver's way of handling the revs The car should be evaluated say at 10,000 kms.

No prabhagar. The SA informed me that there has been no solution to this problem.
And they are awaiting for updates from Tata Motors. He also showed other cars having the same issue.

There was no ECU update as well. My SA showed in Dealership Management System (DMS), that until and unless it shows against the chassis no in the system, no updates are done.
Mine was the May 21st 2016, manufactured car.

Same was told to me also but I know friends who got it resolved by raising complaint in TMSC app. I haven't done it yet but planning to do soon.

There was no ECU update as well. My SA showed in Dealership Management System (DMS), that until and unless it shows against the chassis no in the system, no updates are done.
Mine was the May 21st 2016, manufactured car.
OK, yours may be patched in the factory itself. [thumbsup]

What is the total cost of your 1st service? Why did you change the engine oil with just 1000KM on the odo? I think it must be changed only after 15000 KM?
